I didn't know a realtor in the area as we were 3 hours away so I did a search and found Laura. She was amazing .She took the time to answer all my questions and worked with our schedule .She kept in touch with us through out a 2 week span before we were able to come view this house . The day of our arrival Laura was on time and very professional through out our visit . When looking at this house my husband and I realized it wasn't the house we wanted to purchase immediately but Laura had already done searches for possible other houses that were in the same area and had all the information on hand . We looked at one of the homes she picked and immediately made an offer . She took the time to make sure our trip wasnt wasted even tho we only had that one house in mind to look at . She truly made our house buying such a wonderful experience that I called on her at a later date to sell a home for me . Again, she didn't disappoint . ZillowVERIFIED Do not trust Laura to make sure due diligent items are resolved prior to closing. I could not attend the walk-through and she assured me items were resolved, which they weren't. The closing was a disaster from start to finish. The papers were all wrong from the lender which delayed the process, Laura wasn't there and I couldn't get into MY home until very late in the day. Awful. in response to Laura's response, I was NOT pleased at all. I was pleasant to her when she came to my house as I had guests, all items on the due diligent lists were not completed until I paid a repairman to complete them. No receipt was ever given to me and I had to call the builder to find out about the window. I waited 6 months because I had to wait for the repairs to be completed so I could inform Laura as to the costs. I emailed her and texted her what the costs were so she as my agent could reimburse me. If she had this would never have gone public. Yes indeed it is sad when someone will lie to make a sale.

I do not live in this area either. Laura was very helpful in explaining all the details about the process and the house was only listed for a few days until it was under contract. Since I had to return home, most of the details had to be handled by phone and email. Laura was very knowledgeable and was able to take care of everything needed. She went out of her way to finish the sale and even deposited the final check for my Aunt, since I was not able to that. She went over and above and I would recommend her highly for her skill and caring.

During our search, Laura did not try to steer us toward any certain area or property, but rather acted as a trusted advisor during our search. Laura is really out to help you find the perfect home, and this point was proven dramatically. While in due diligence of a home we selected we decided it was not in our best interest to go forward with that particular property. I have to be honest; I was not looking forward to making that phone call to Laura to tell her the bad news. Lauras reaction was basically, "if the home is not right for you, then it is not right." She went back to searching for us and quickly found another property that was perfect. With both homes, she proved to be an excellent negotiator. There were some issues with closing from the sellers side, and Laura helped us work through all of that, keeping us apprised of the current situation along the way. There were also issues that came up during due diligence and running up to closing that she expertly negotiated for us. Lauras great knowledge of local businesses and services in the area is also a huge plus. Since I do not live in the area, Laura helped me with other issues along the way as well. From taking photos and measurements of the yard, to climbing into a bush to take photos of the water meter I needed, Laura will go the extra mile to do what needs to be done to find you that perfect home and make your experience as easy as possible.Add all that to the fact that she is friendly, easy-going while at the same time very frank and honest, and you will be glad you selected Laura Hewitt for your next home search or sale.

Our search for the "perfect" home went on for close to two years. Laura never pushed us to make a decision that wasn't right or disregarded us due to the length of time. When our search took us north of where she felt comfortable (into Wilmington and Topsail), she even introduced us to other realtors who she felt knew those areas better. Once we returned to Ocean Isle and finally found the right house, Laura was fantastic with communication and always made herself available for appointments and (re)showings. Perhaps the most telling thing, however, was how much she continued to help us even after the closing. Since we were purchasing a vacation home and lived out of town, she would go by the house and bring packages inside, let builders in, etc. I cannot say enough good things about Laura Hewett realty. We would use her again in a heartbeat!

We currently live in Hickory, NC, and were only able to make limited trips to the Shallotte area to search for property. When we met with Laura, she quickly determined exactly what we were looking for, and supplied us with listing information for all homes in our "category". I think we actually only had to view 5 or 6 homes before we found "the one".
