Laena's relationship with California began when her ancestors came west traveling by wagon-train in the late 1850's and settled in Sonoma. A few generations later her grandparents fell in love on the ferry from San Francisco to UC Berkeley, before the Bay Bridge was built. Laena brings her in-depth knowledge of the local market along with a strong background in design and architecture to the King Realty Group. She embraces a skillful and thorough approach to real estate, continually coming up with creative ways to meet her clients' goals. In her own words: "I understand that buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decesions a person can make, so I take the time to truly listen to my clients' needs, educate them throughout the process, and keep them informed every step of the way." Her problem-solving skills, kind-hearted disposition, and impeccable attention to detail have enabled Laena to build successful, long-lasting client relationships. Laena achieved both a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts and was awarded a postdoctoral Rockefeller Fellowship. As a professor, she has taught at the University of San Francisco, Duke University, and UNC, Chapel Hill. In addition, she has two decades of experience in the diamond trade, buying, selling, consulting, and managing millions of dollars of inventory. It is an industry based on trustworthiness and the ability to negotiate; she now engages these core values with her real estate clients.
