ZillowVERIFIEDKris was a life saver for my husband and I! I talked to multiple realtors since it was my first time buying a house and he was the only realtor who was positive and encouraging. He was professional, timely, knowledgeable, and our advocate through the long process of buying our home. We moved across the country and knew nothing of how different things were from state to state. No matter how difficult things got he was honest but had a plan to help us through it. Putting out trust in Kris was the smartest thing we did! He is the only one in upstate NY I could find who had any knowledge of VA loans. Even after the process was done, he checked in to make sure we were doing ok. He was so thoughtful and respectful. I cant recommend Kris more to anyone and everyone who is interested in finding a reliable down to earth realtor.

ZillowVERIFIED My wife and I began searching for our first home in 2019 when we found out that she was pregnant with our first child. We started looking at some properties in the area and happened to look at a place Kris had listed. I heard from many friends, family, and trusted community members that Kris was a great realtor. We didnt end up liking the listed property, but we took on Kris as our buyers agent and he helped us locate our home!?The process of buying a home for the first time is daunting, to say the least. Kris was friendly, professional, courteous, and extremely responsive to our calls and texts. He led us through the process and we were able to close on our home in time to move in before our firstborn arrived!?I highly recommend Kris if you are looking to purchase a property in Cortland or Tompkins counties!

ZillowVERIFIED If youll looking for a realtor who will go out of their way to help you find your dream home, Kris is not it. He doesnt take the time to explain things to first time home buyers. Instead of just letting you know hes not interested in working together, hell just discourage you from making offers. Overall, he makes really minimal effort.

We recently had the good fortune to work with Kristopher on the sale of our familys estate. My brother and I both live out-of-state. It was a difficult time for us on many levels. We found Kristopher to be, not only knowledgeable about the real estate industry in the area, but also a highly motivated, potential-driven professional. He went above and beyond in assisting us to prepare the property for market and throughout the entire sale cycle. We received an excellent offer and recently closed the sale. We are very appreciative of Kristophers invaluable help and support during what has been a very challenging time. His knowledge, skill, concern, and helpfulness made a huge difference. We are grateful for and highly recommend his services.

It was a very pleasant experience working with Kris. I don't think I could have chosen a better person to have selling my house. He went out of his way on many occasions to assist me. I live about 3 1/2 hours from this house and he did all the leg work. I have nothing but praise for him. All I can is say Thank You.

ZillowVERIFIED Kris has been a fantastic agent from start to finish. He was always responsive- even in the midst of his own personal situations. As first time home buyers, we needed extra support from an agent; my wife and I were very fortunate to work with the friendliest agent in Cortland/Tompkins county.

At the age of sixty eight, in the spring of 2018, these New York winters had become just too much for me, so I decided to sell my house. I had my house appraised, but given all of the work it needed, I didnt believe that it would sell for that much. I set the price I wanted in my mind, and contacted several Realtors. I found Tompkins Cortland Real Estate to be the only one who consistently responded to my emails and calls. Kris remained that way throughout the entire process. He was always optimistic and reassuring. I knew it would take some time to find a buyer, but on June 14, 2019 Kristopher W. Buchan sold my house for exactly the price I had previously told him that I wanted for it. I'm now off to a location Id much rather be. Thank you Kris! John Reynolds

I feel fortunate to have had Kristopher's expertise on our side through the home buying process. Kristopher has a vast working knowledge of real estate and the local area. On more than one occasion I was amazed at how many people he knows and more so his knowledge of various homes in the area and their history. Being first time home buyers, Kristopher was fantastic at guiding us in the process and setting our nerves at ease. Kristopher was readily available for a phone call, text, or email. In the end we have a beautiful house and could not be happier with the service we received. Our family highly recommends Kristopher Buchan and Tompkins Cortland Real Estate.

That doesn't mean he stopped working for us! He was consistently on the lookout for us. He would call or email with idea's and options frequently over the next 2 years until he found us our perfect home. This guy never stops working and I highly recommend him to all. He will not let you down! Thank you kris

ZillowVERIFIED My first contact to Kris was responded to withing 4 hours (I am still waiting for response back from another agent I contacted 6 months ago). He got me listings, talked about the properties in detail, showed me anything I wanted to look at, treated me like a queen, and has helped me get the house of my dreams. He knows Groton & Cortland!! He was able to answer every question I threw at him and he answered it candidly. Not a sugar-coater, but honest. He is busy busy but took the time to easy my mind as I am a first time home buyer and a veteran.

ZillowVERIFIED I contacted Kristopher after attending an open house in Groton. He was friendly and knowledgeable. After deciding how much I wanted to spend on a house, I met with Kris and discussed what things were important to me. He suggested areas that were convenient to my work, but also in my price range. We drove all over two counties, with Kris as an entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide. When we found one we loved, he helped me through the offer process. Ultimately, that one fell through because of the type of mortgage I qualified for, not because Kris didn't try every type of negotiation he could. The seller just decided not to sell to me. With more searching, (and looking at the house three times!) I put in a purchase offer on my first home. During the entire process, right up to the handing over of the keys, Kris was always a text, call or email away. He made a stressful thing much less stressful. If I ever decide to sell my house, Kristopher Buchan will be my listing agent and will be helping me find another house! I would recommend his services, whether you are new to the area or just want someone who knows the ins and outs of real estate. He won't laugh at any of your questions and will always make you feel like you are an important client.

ZillowVERIFIED If you were looking for a realtor in your area to either buy or sell, Kristopher Buchan is the realtor you want. My sister and I had recently inherited our fathers' house after he had passed. It was already a difficult time for us and having to sell our childhood home was making it even more difficult. My realtor in Austin, Texas did some digging and found that Mr. Buchan came highly recommended by other competing real estate agencies in NY. Not only was he very accommodating and sensitive to our situation and needs, but was also extremely proactive on all fronts. His expertise and knowledge of real estate in the area was extremely helpful and yielded a sale that we were both very happy with. I highly recommend Kristopher to anyone interested in dealing in real estate. He will take care of you.

ZillowVERIFIED We have used Kristopher Buchan for purchasing a single family home and selling a 3-unit home as well as asking for and receiving advice on re-financing our current mortgage. Kris helped us find our new home and was patient with us while we looked at several possible homes. Once we made a decision, he helped us secure a mortgage and was assertive and aggressive doing all the leg work necessary to close.Selling the 3-unit home I inherited was a nightmare, as there were issues with the title and multiple repairs were needed to pass inspection. Kris hounded attorneys, repairmen, bankers, and many other people to get the deal done. He went above and beyond the call of duty.We purchased our current home in 2013 and we still call Kris for advice. Most recently, he researched mortgage rates and helped us bring our loan down to a 15-year from a 30-year and actually lowering our payment. We would highly recommend Kris to anyone looking to buy or sell a home!!

ZillowVERIFIED Kris' knowledge of the local area kept us focused on neighborhoods that were a good fit for us. He managed to find a house that balanced my desire to be in the city near our parents, my husband's yearning to have a big yard in the country, and my fear of stairs. Not an easy compromise.Kris guided us through the process of buying a house using Veterans' Administration loans without a misstep. I generally have a high level of anxiety around getting a process perfect with not knowing what I'm doing. Kris helped me get familiar with the process and took on what to me was the more stressful parts of negotiations and details. In the end I got the perfect house with a huge yard and no bad memories.
