ZillowVERIFIEDI rented through Engel & Voelkers Belleair and agent Kristin Hallamek in 2025, and was faced with shenanigans, commitments not honored, and lack of accountability from the start. Basic expectations such as a clean house to move into with working amenities (AC, hot water, and so on), resolved potential issues from previous 2024 hurricane, or secured windows & doors were not satisfied. Throughout occupancy, my very serious inquiries into pre-existing water leaks, mold issues and pool cleaning malpractice, meant to be passed on to landlords as complaints, were unwelcome and treated accordingly by K. Hallamek who argued she was aEURoefriendly with the landlords, didn't have any problems with them, and wanted to keep it that wayaEUR?. Unlike what had been deemed a non-issue upon request and before signing the lease, I wasn't allowed to vacate early unless I'd have agreed on some sudden waiver forfeiting my rights to any legal action against the landlords. What a surprise! Kristin herself stood out, to me, as an unprofessional property manager who refused personal accountability when questioned or addressed about her mistakes. My personal opinion is that she had an ego and obvious double-standards, clumsy communication and an entitled, bullish, even sneaky attitude. One of her mottos aEURoeWe go fast, make things happen!aEUR? only applied as far as landlord's benefit was concerned. My privacy and rights as a tenant were challenging for her to fully grasp and respect. Her ability to simply work things out with my yet very accommodating schedule was poor to say the least. On the other hand, my pet approval request waited more than 3 weeks. There's more! No statement had been made at any point that the property was tied to an HOA, not in the Zillow listing nor in the lease. I had directly inquired before signing and again shortly after moving and didn't get a response. Four months into the lease however, I received a text from Kristin stating the house had an HOA and that I wasn't complying with some of its rules. When I refused to comply and suck it up arguing I had never been informed, Kristin decided the best course of action was to drop at my door a notice of non-compliance (with threat of eviction) that contained false accusations and had no legal basis.

She also did not try to push us into a higher price range as I have seen others do in an attempt to increase their commission. It was clear her goal was to find us something we were happy with. Once we found a home we liked she did a good job of helping us through the offer process and gave us good insight on what to expect in this market and ensured we put together a good offer that we were comfortable with. However, what I was most impressed with was her assistance after the offer had been accepted. Prior to closing date we were unable to be in the area but we needed several things to be done. This included obtaining financing, the home inspection and some other work that had to be done at the house. Kristin offered excellent multiple references for each of our needs. For the inspection and some follow up work Kristin made multiple trips to the home on our behalf to make sure things were taken care so we did not have anything to worry about. In summary, Kristin was helpful across the board in the process and I would recommend her for anyone looking to buy a home in the area. Her willingness to do the extra things for those that are out of town is the best I have ever experienced.

She was extremely informative throughout the process and always had a minute to take our calls before, during, and after business hours. We utilized Kristin as a property manager for a rental property and also as our listing agent. Everything that Kristin advised us on rang true and the advice in the end was invaluable. I have referred Kristin to friends and all have had great experiences.
