FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
My advice is to be prepared and act decisively. In the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market, well-priced homes are still moving quickly. Have your pre-approval in hand before you start shopping so you can make a strong offer without delays.
Second, know your numbers. Understand not just the purchase price but the monthly payment, taxes, and potential HOA or condo fees so you’re comfortable when the right home comes along.
Finally, partner with an experienced local Realtor who knows how to navigate negotiations, uncover opportunities, and protect your interests. The right guidance can make the difference between winning the home you love or missing out.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Price strategically and present your home at its best. In the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market, buyers are active—but they’re selective. Overpricing can cost you valuable time and cause your listing to sit, while homes that are priced right and professionally marketed still generate multiple offers.
Make sure your home is show-ready: declutter, stage if possible, and invest in professional photos and video. First impressions online drive buyer traffic.
Lastly, work with an agent who has proven systems for marketing, negotiation, and exposure. The right strategy ensures you not only sell but maximize your return in today’s competitive market.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. In my 23+ years of helping buyers and sellers, I've work with first-time buyers, first time home sellers, luxury homeowners, military families relocating in and out of the region, doctors and medical professionals, 55+ buyers and sellers, investors, and condominium/co-op buyers; definitely a wide range of circumstances.
Each client’s situation is unique, and my role is to provide the right strategy—whether that’s maximizing profit for a seller, finding the perfect first home, or navigating a complex relocation. My focus is always on protecting my clients’ interests while making the process as smooth and successful as possible.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
A military couple found me on Google. They has a house on the market with a Realtor for 5 months and it hadn't sold. They had already moved/PCSed to a new city. I went to the property and assessed it. I was able to get a full priced buyer in less than a week to purchase to the home. They were super grateful because they weren't able to make 2 housing payments. It was truly special to be able to help our military members their urgent need.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
I unfortunately had a bad experience with a Realtor who was a dual agent. I didn't feel she represented us well, so I decided to get a license and treat people how I wish I had been treated.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
In this 23 year journey in real estate, I continue to educate myself and adapt. Real estate is always changing. I am a master negotiator, which always benefits my clients. I have also been able to help my Clients win no matter if the market is up or down.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Kelly is fantastic. Highly knowledgeable, appreciates financial limits, always available and responds quickly, professional as well as personable, and incredibly efficient. If you are a first time homebuyer like we were, Kelly makes the entire process less overwhelming. She walked through every step with patience, and we felt more comfortable in making decisions. We never felt pressured into buying anything, and she gave us great advice that was for our benefit. We closed in less than 3 weeks! Working with Kelly is the best decision we made in our home-buying journey. THANK YOU KELLY! We are so happy with our new home!

After interviewing four realtors, I chose Kelly Jackson of the KJAX Group. As a homeowner in NW DC wishing to sell my house, my feeling was that Kelly was the most qualified. She was able to answer my many questions with solid well-thought-out answers. If she didn't immediately know the answer to one of my many questions, she would get back to me ASAP with the answer. My anxiety level around leaving a home of thirty years was high, however; Kelly's calm AND knowledgeable presence managed to keep my anxiety in check. She simultaneously helped me with the purchase of an apartment. All closings were smooth and free of extra stressors. I could go on with more accolades, but I'll stop now and just say that I STRONGLY recommend Kelly Jackson for the sale or purchase of your next home.--Glenn Morrison WASH., DC

Kelly was delightful to work with, and she was very effective at selling my house! It was a real partnership. My house was previously on the market and didn't sell for months with that agent. Kelly came out and assessed the house, created a plan and SOLD my house right away. She was willing to do marketing that other real estate agents don't want to invest in. I highly recommend!
