About Kathy Furlong

Representing Metro Detroit homeowners and future homeowners, Kathy is committed to listening to your needs and using her negotiation skills to ensure a smooth transaction. Having lived in Michigan consecutively since 1989, she loves the area and understands the benefits of living in Michigan - its beauty, entertainment, recreation and all four seasons to name a few. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and went on to teach high school science. After 20 years in the classroom, she made the switch to real estate and has enjoyed almost every minute (does anyone really enjoy every minute of their job). Kathy's communication skills are top notch and she will take the time necessary to listen to your concerns. She will explain the market of the moment and discuss your next steps so you can make informed decisions. Whether marketing your home for sale, or searching for the next perfect place to call home, Kathy is excited to use her skills and expertise to help you. When not working in real estate, Kathy and her husband can be found on their sailboat (in the summer), spending time with family and friends, or just hanging out with their dogs. The dogs include two rescues (a Havenese and a Shih-Poo) and a Golden Retriever; they keep life from getting too quiet. Kathy has recently gotten involved in the local Kiwanis Club and loves giving back to the community.

Kathy is involved with the local Kiwanis club. Giving back and working with children is still a focus.

Kathy and her husband enjoy bowling during the winter months and sailing during the summer.

It has been so reassuring to work with Kathy and Bill. I definitely stress too much, but they were calm and patient with me. They quickly learned what kind of home I wanted and walked me through every step. Kathy was always available and went out of her way to help me, including finding contractors to make repairs and improvements. She also sold my mother's home of 40 years. She represented Mom when problems came up and made what was an emotional move smooth. (I think Mom adopted her.) Kathy also represented my daughter and her husband in buying their first home and recently selling it again. Next step, selling my current home. There is no doubt Kathy will be my realtor.
