ZillowVERIFIED From the moment we first contacted Kara, she was incredibly responsive, professional, and insightful. Due to being a military family, we had a few restraints that needed to be overcome like being 1800 miles and two time zones away, only having four days to be in town to look for houses, and dealing with VA requirements for the loan. Kara went above and beyond all expectations we had and was able to find us the perfect home, in the perfect neighborhood. We were able to close at the ideal time for us to be able to go straight from one house to the next without having to put our stuff in storage!! Even when we had issues with third parties (mortgage company, insurance company, inspectors, etc) Kara did not hesitate to contact them on my behalf to ensure all necessary requirements were met in a timely manner. After 19 years in the military, this is not my first experience of buying a house in an unknown city/state but this most definitely was the best experience. Solely because of Kara. Hands down the best realtor we have ever worked with.

We were first time home buyers and she educated us on everything related to home buying and the process, including home construction (construction materials, age, appliances, flood potential, etc.), negotiating (with lenders, seller, etc.), insurance, inspection, loan paperwork, cost estimates, home repairs, and countless other things. She respected and addressed every question we had throughout the process. She anticipated our needs and sent us paperwork ahead of time to complete. She has incredible patience and is very prompt with her responses (through text and email). She has an incredible knowledge of the area including the strengths and weaknesses of each area of the city and how it would best fit our budget and lifestyle. She quickly learned what we wanted in a home and was very open and nonjudgmental with our home buying process while still being critical of homes that may not be good values or could have hidden issues or costs (i.e. hidden scratches, potential mechanical issues, money required to change things upon purchase). Another notable thing is that she treated every home showing the same regardless of cost, and never tried to push something more expensive on us. She was also a great negotiator on our behalf, and did not settle for less than our agreed upon requests for home repairs from the seller. We began not knowing exactly what we wanted and ended up with a home that was beyond our expectations. I can't think of a single complaint of her throughout the entire process. We couldn't be happier with our experience and I would HIGHLY recommend Kara to anyone looking to buy a home......She also has some really funny stories while you are waiting around for the inspector, etc.

I cannot recommend Kara enough. I was lucky enough to be able to buy my first home during COVID-19. The short of it is that I got a fantastic house in a great neighborhood and Kara helped me negotiate for a much bigger price reduction (and more repairs) then someone would normally get ($21,000 off, plus around $2,500 in additional repairs). When I decided to buy a house, I looked for an experienced, full-time, realtor (as recommended by the first time home buyer books) and Kara popped up as the top person pretty much immediately. Her reviews felt too good to be true but it's not a lie, she is seriously THE BEST at her job. Here are just a few reasons why Kara is amazing: 1) Very fast communication. Responds to random questions sent via text or email pretty quickly. Very helpful at answering basic questions, even about things that technically aren't her purview (e.g., questions about mortgages). 2) Very deep knowledge. She knows pretty much everything and is very happy to share what she knows to make the extire experience easy for first-time home buyers. She also knows a lot about different neighborhoods in New Orleans. 3) Extremely organized and prepared. She has handouts/emails prepared to help you at every step. She is very organized with providing you with paperwork that you can e-sign. She provided me with a whole folder with all my paperwork after the sale. You really don't have to worry about much. 4) Very transparent and honest. As an economist I worry that realtors have incentives to show you houses that give them a better commission, or don't help you negotiate as much in order to get a faster sale. I was never worried about that with Kara. When ever she suggested certain strategies, she made clear why and was very open to questions. I never felt like there were any motives for her other than sincerely caring about getting the best outcomes for home buyers. 5) Very thorough. Technically realtors are just supposed to help you get the house, but Kara helped with getting me a good termite contract, gave me information on how to set up utilities, get homeowners insurance, get my homestead exemption, etc. She goes above and beyond. 6) The best realtor for first time home buyers. This was my first time buying a house and it a was A LOT to learn and consider. It was pretty overwhelming at first but Kara made it easy by explaining the process and providing updates, and providing detailed information at each step. It was very manageable. 7) Genuinely enjoyable to work with. Kara is very friendly and helpful and while a lot of the tasks you have to complete to buy a house can feel like a chore, I sincerely enjoyed working with Kara. I am sure I am missing some good things to say but i'll leave it at that. These was honestly nothing about working with her that I didn't like or that didn't go well. This is coming from an academic so we are normally extremely critical.
