My sister is a realtor in Florida, and my brother-in-law is a coach there. They both saw the potential I had in real estate, especially with my background in remodeling and my knowledge of houses around the Twin Cities. When two people who know you really well encourage you to make the leap, you trust them! So I did—and I've absolutely loved it.

I have a degree in Interior Design, and I used that background for many years working with a remodeling company. I designed kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces, as well as the company’s showrooms and trade show displays. I worked directly with my own clients as the contractor, and also consulted with other designers on their projects. A lot of my work involved space planning and helping clients make selections for cabinets, appliances, tile, flooring, colors, and other finishes. That experience has been especially helpful with new construction, where I can help clients think through the layout of kitchens and bathrooms and make selections. It also helps with existing homes. I can often help buyers see what might be possible with a space, and sometimes help bring two different visions together when they don't initially see the same potential in a home. I think that background gives me a different perspective when helping clients look at a home—not just how it is today, but what it could be.
