She is hands down one of the most professional people I have ever worked with in any field, and her knowledge and skills as a realtor are top-notch. I am a first-time homebuyer and had very little knowledge about the home buying process, and felt overwhelmed by all the unfamiliar terms and processes. Joie put me at ease because she spends so much time giving you in-depth explanations, from her very detailed first-time homebuying seminar, to every step along the way to the closing day. When you go see a house with her, you can tell you are in excellent hands; she brings a toolkit full of gadgets to take measurements and check functionality of things in the house, closely inspects everything like the electrical panel, HVAC system, etc., even inspects the roof. She explains what may need repairs or replacing, which is helpful when deciding if the price is worth it. She is extremely meticulous in all her work. She is always available to answer questions on the phone or over email. When it's time to put an offer in, she explains the whole process in great detail, discusses why certain sweeteners may be advantageous, and works quickly and meticulously to give you the best chance. I was new to the area and still didnt know a lot of people to identify the best locations to put down roots. The pandemic made that search even more challenging. Then enters, DMV realtor extraordinaire, Joie Ashworth of Weichert Realtors. I interviewed multiple agents via Zoom and on the phone. I knew from our initial conversation, that Joies professionalism, knowledge of the market and demeanor were bar none to everyone else. I had very specific things I was looking for, and Joie previewed multiple homes for me, objectively provided the pros and cons for each until we found a diamond in the rough. During negotiations, she held the line and was able to connect me with a lender that was able to meet my aggressive timeline. During my inspection, she did more to check things out than I did as the potential homeowner! She cares about her clients and you can feel that threaded through each and every interaction along the way. She is incredibly patient and consistently looks at each home on its own merits. She is also great at seeing a home and identifying the art of the possible, which is very important as most homes dont have everything we want from the start. She is knowledgeable about real estate law and does an amazing job explaining every single step of the process. This is helpful whether you are a first time homebuyer or a pro. Laws are constantly changing and you want someone on your side that is current with the latest changes and requirements. As an added bonus, she provided me with a 3-D video of my home to have for my records and to help reduce foot traffic from multiple contractors needing to see the home ahead of providing quotes. Amidst the global pandemic we are facing, this is of great value for any potential homebuyer. I honestly cannot say enough great things about her work ethic, follow through and again her professionalism. She went above and beyond in this transaction...getting to know me as a buyer and homeowner to better tailor the search. A few highlights: SELLING EXPERIENCE: Joie toured our house 6 months prior to us putting it on the market and gave us lots of helpful advice about how to stage, what to invest in, and what to leave alone etc. When we decided to list, she did multiple walkthroughs and pointed out a number of small things we could do to attract buyers. Her attention to detail was fantastic! She lightly staged our house in ways we could never have done on our own. She also had a very proactive and thorough marketing plan for selling our property. I could not be more satisfied with Joie. She certainly surpassed my expectations. Both transactions went smoothly, in great part because of Joie. I never imagined buying a home could go so smoothly! And this is my second time buying. It is very clear to me that Joie loves her job and that her goal is to help her clients find exactly what they are looking for. Even when I would forget certain things that I really cared about (at some points one can feel like settling), she was patient enough to make sure I knew what the property offered, including both the advantages and disadvantages. She would highlight important things that I would have never considered or thought about and that were important for my particular needs and lifestyle. When needed, she would also help me see the potential of the property, beyond the initial impression. She clearly took her time to get to know me and wanted to make sure I was getting what I wanted and, more importantly, that I knew what kind of property I was interested in buying (or renting). She was (and still is) always available, responding promptly and taking time to answer questions and provide valuable advice. She did all this in a professional but also enjoyable manner. She is still helping me in the transition and answering questions, even after the transaction is over. When needed, she would even take care of things that were clearly above and beyond what she needed to do just to make sure the process went smoothly and that it was easier and a positive experience for me. Joie was assigned to me for buying my new home and USAA also sent the name of another Realtor to help in selling my new home. Joie and the other agent provided presentations on how they would help me and I ultimately selected Joie because it was abundantly clear that she had such a great understanding of the market, as well as the knowledge of how to really show a house and take advantage of the Internet for getting eyes on your home. We listed my home on a Thursday, had open houses on Saturday and Sunday, and by Monday or Tuesday, I was under contract. In searching for my new home, I knew what location I wanted, but wasn't sure of what type of home. Joie was quite patient as we looked at various options and I narrowed it down. She was very responsive when I had questions, and very informative. I feel that I learned a lot about real estate while working with Joie. Another thing I appreciated is that she has a great eye for home design and decor and is very creative. She was able to provide ideas on how you might work with a room that I couldn't necessarily see or imagine for myself. ZillowVERIFIED If your looking to sell, rent, own, CHOOSE JOIE. Joie worked with me to find a house for myself and three other girls in Bethesda. She took the time to get to know me and my preferences and quickly provided me with many properties that addressed my needs. She always answered emails and phone calls, gave me more than enough options with explanations for each, and was very detail oriented with a keen eye for aspects of houses/townhouses that I would have missed. Although the transaction did not come to a close with a rental of no fault of Joie's, (the roommate situation fell through) I would not hesitate to use Joie in the future for any housing needs I have.
