ZillowVERIFIED We hired John to list our house in Fenton mi. John gave us his opinion as to what the property was worth. I thought he was low so told him to add 40,000 to the price. When I went to sign the contract I noticed he raised the commission by 1 percent. He never bothered to mention it to me. ( first red flag) his response to me was he thought the house would sit on the market longer due to the 40,000 increase in price. I had over 20 showings in two weeks and could have sold it in one week. However John refused to split the closing costs with me, that the buyer was asking me to pay. (Red Flag 2) The following week I had the same offer, different buyer. John agreed to split the closing cost. John said he would be at my house with my wife for the property inspection as I was traveling. I had to call his office 3 times requesting him to get to the house before the inspector left. I finally had to threaten to fire him in order for him to show up. (red flag 3) Last but not least he didn't show for the closing, he sent his office clerk that was employed by him for only a month. (Red Flag 4). How he stays in business I have no idea!
