We had been wanting to sell our house for a long time to relocate out of Massachusetts because the cost living was skyrocketing. The house we wanted to sell belonged to my parents for over thirty years and then we purchased the home after my mother passed away. We owned the house since 2001. After John received my email, he literally came to my house the NEXT DAY. He did not ring my bell or call me but instead he put a personalized folder for me about the details of the current market and prospects for selling my home in our mailbox. After I found the folder in my mailbox. I was so impressed that he did not call me but instead he left the "information" for me because after all, that is what I wanted. I followed up with John over the phone to thank him for the information that he had left for us. We started to talk and never did he seem pushy. He LISTENED to me as I told him what our plans were and during the time I got so emotional at the thought of selling my home. I was so emotional that John himself started to get emotional as well as I told him about the tragic lost of my mother and why the house meant so much to me. Before I knew it, John was sitting in my living room with us and after talking to him some more, I immediately knew that he would be the person that we needed to SELL our home. I heard that John was nicknamed the "terminator" by a colleague of his and now why. He just does not give up, period. We had several offers that we had problems with from potential buyers and John never gave up. He just kept saying, well let's keep moving on until we get the right buyer. I wanted to give up so many times but John kept on going and our house was SOLD. If you are a seller who needs a persistent, honest and HARDWORKING realtor that won't give up even through the toughest storms then you should honestly contact John. He worked hard to get the closing done on time despite the lawyers' attempts at delay. He skillfully negotiated our sale, keeping us in the loop at all times. Our home was found and sold very quickly, within a few days of listing. John had built in to our agreement dates that we would reduce the price of the home. That is possibly not something every seller would be comfortable with, but this worked for us, since the house sold quickly and we didn't have to reduce the price. John works hard to get all of the details and pictures right on first listing so that the house gives a good first impression on the internet, where most buyers see the house for the first time. John works hard to make sure that Zillow, his website listing and MLS listing has all of the important appealing details of the home. If you want your house to sell, don't waste your time with realtors that want to just sit on bunches of listings. You want someone like John who will get your house sold by making things right from the start.

ZillowVERIFIED I am a first-time home buyer who chose John Green as my buyer's broker. I used him to look at homes in Lynn during the worst time during the worst winter in the past 125 years, and he helped me buy my home. Searching for a house during such a bad time meant I had less competition when I stumbled upon the open house that became my home.John works hard behind the scenes and gets things done, quickly. I felt pressured at various points (from him and my girlfriend both, to be fair) to not to insert contingencies that could kill the deal and to not make offers that are too low. This may have resulted in a house that cost just a few thousand more than necessary, but I DID get the house instead of someone else and my house search did not last long. The appraiser said the house is worth the price I was about to pay. In the end I am satisfied with the house I ended up in and it fit my needs and value perfectly. John is quite active in the Lynn/Revere area, he is very responsive, and he gets things done. He does seem to take satisfaction out of finding the right first home for a first-time home buyer like me.Contractors who have entered the house have complimented me on the house and the neighborhood for a value-priced starter home ($210,000), and I really could not be happier.

ZillowVERIFIED I first met John in September of 2013 and immediately knew that this was the guy i wanted to work with. I thought my house in shambles, but after John I met with John I felt alot more comfortable as he told me I had a great property and he would love to take on the challenge of selling it. Unfortunately my girlfriend at the time wasn't as enthusiastic about selling as I was. I told John I was going to hold off on selling and he was understanding. Months later I broke off the relationship and called John a week later. I was very impressed that he remembered me and house even though we hadn't spoken in a long time. The next day John came over took pictures and we talked about the stratgey we use to sell the house. I say we because he really made me feel like part of the team. As soon as it came on to the market there was alot of buzz and alot of showings. John also set up open houses for three weekends in a row. The new owner showed up to that 3rd open house and put in an offer that I accepted. The new owner had some things he wanted me to take care and I did not know how to about getting these things done. John was right there and helped get these things done. I could not attend the closing and was shocked to hear my lawyer wasn't there. Luckily though John was there and on my behalf negotiated the last little details so we could get the deal done. Im really happy that I came across John. He made feel comfortable, was very knowledgeable, worked very hard to sell my house. We John also helped me purchase my next home which ill talk about if I get another zillow review.

Overall we are exceptionally pleased with the house that we got and we cannot say that we definitely would have gotten it if it had not been for John's expertise. He is a very dedicated realtor and always willing to take on a challenge (if you have an unusual property, I definitely recommend John). Below are more details into what we liked and did not like about working with John:We liked:- He was always on call and answered his phone/text at all hours. He would reply to our emails even late into the night or early in the morning. I would assume he is one of the most responsive realtors out there.- If we wanted to get something done, he would work hard to help us. For example, we wanted to complete an electrical inspection and he got his guy to come out despite some obstacles. Further, his electrician did not charge us.- He is an AWESOME person to hang out with. Viewing houses wont be nearly as taxing with a fun realtor to do it with.- We got two outstanding recommendations from people we knew before asking John to be our realtor.- He is very technologically endeavoring and always willing to try something new. He is always trying something new and taking on new challenges.Did not like:- The house had some significant issues that we did not find out until we moved in. We were satisfied with Johns services until we moved in and found the flaws. It is the buyers responsibility to inspect the house as thoroughly as they would like and should accept the consequences stemming from their decisions. However, it is the job of the realtor to also inspect the house and assist the buyer in making the best choice (if they aren't inspecting the house, why are they walking around with you). No one will catch all the flaws, but all the major flaws should be known prior to purchase. We tried hard to complete a thorough inspection and be diligent about the process. We recommend every home buyer slot at least 1 hr/1k sqft for a thorough home inspection after the home inspector. Test everything, remove questionable outlet covers, and lift rugs up if they are not fixed, are just some examples.I would attribute the inadequate final inspection to our rushed schedule. We recommend you slot at least 45 min/ 1k sqft for the final inspection.- It is the responsibility of the realtor to assist the buyer in asking for a fair price reduction if flaws are found after the inspection. Our realtor was very discouraging of asking for money off. His confidence gave us a false assurance that the house was in better shape than it actually was, and that the sellers would back-out of the contract. We overpaid for our house and should have asked for significantly more money off to correct the issues.- The first issue was a hole in the bathroom that used to be a vent (very old house). They had rugs laid over it. We lifted the rugs to inspect the tiles, but did not fully remove the rugs.- The second issue was with the electrical system. The home inspector told us there were issues, but did not know the extent. John offered to have his guy come out to complete the inspection. His guy did not charge us, which we are very grateful for. However, he also did not complete a thorough inspection and did not find the major issues.- The third issue was that the sellers left ~200 lbs of junk and paint in the house prior to the final inspection. We should have told them to remove everything. Since we had so little time to complete the final inspection, we only did a cursory inspection of the paint and thought some of it might be useful. We expect realtors to continue giving guidance during the final inspection and double-check questionable decisions by the buyers.We did not locate all this junk because we did not check everywhere. Further, the aEURoeworthwhileaEUR? items they did leave were not in working order. We expect realtors to assist in the final inspection and advise the buyers. In hindsight we should have not kept any of the paint or aEURoeworthwhileaEUR? items because they appeared in bad shape.- The sellers did not provide all the keys to the house. When I asked our realtor for their contact info to get the keys, he discouraged this. He is correct in that replacing all the locks is good practice, but it is still our right to receive all the keys to the house; we should not be forced to change the locks so we can use all our doors. Further, because we never actuated the backdoor locks, we never discovered the significant issues with the doors.We learned a lot about buying a house and will be more careful in the future. In todays modern world a buyer can look online and find the houses they are interested in viewing. I expect a realtor to complete the administrative side, advise on the purchase, point out issues, work to get the best price, and verify any questionable decisions. If we only wanted a realtor to complete the administrative side, we would purchase a house through www.Redfin.com.

ZillowVERIFIED My fiance and I were looking to purchase a home quickly. A couple we recently met recommended John Green and we decided to call him on a Monday. He answered the call and quickly got us set up on his website to look at listings. By Tuesday we were looking at homes and had picked a few to view. John quickly set up appointments with other realtors to look at four homes on Wednesday. I was able to view all four homes in a 2 hour period. On Friday I showed the same homes to my fiance. On Saturday we looked at a few more homes and by that afternoon we had put in an offer. By Sunday we had an accepted offer. John was great at picking out what we wanted, getting in to see the places, and working with other realtors on offers. He is a go-getter and follows up very well on our home buying questions. He also has great referrals for home inspectors and lenders. We will definitely work with John again in the future!

The first when we met, John's "pre-game" talk about the process of purchasing a home in Massachusetts was very informative and made an easy sag-way to both introduce himself as well as providing important gotcha that is usually missed or mis-understood by home buyers.John is quite experienced in identifying the exact match we are looking for. His website allowed us to easily enter the parameters we were looking for and it gave us daily digest emails about the homes that matches our parameters. During home showing time, John did not become despondent when my wife and I rejected some of the homes he showed us because we did not think they were what we were looking for. His expertise in preparing a buyer to offer a property was very technical, which involved detailed comparisons of recently sold homes at around the property we potentially wanting to offer. Eventually, we found a match in Briantree and is currently waiting out the process of a short sale. Periodically when we make inquiries about the short sale process, John would promptly respond to us via email or phone. We would highly recommend John to other potential buyers who is looking for a buyer's agent.
