Joe Schrum

Q: 1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

Get pre-qualified before you start looking and go with a full-time Realtor that is familiar with your area.

Q: 2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Go with a Realtor that is familiar with your local area and understands the market. Not all Realtors are the same. Go with someone that listens to your concerns and acknowledges your concerns.

Q: 3. What types of clients have you worked with?

Like Realtors, clients are all different. I like to create a trusting relationship that is transparent and lasting. I have worked with a variety of clients from many different backgrounds and diversity.

Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

I most recently closed on a home with a young couple expecting their first child. It was a VA loan that went very smoothly.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

I worked 31 years as a public servant (in the Army and Department of Corrections). I had always had a passion to work in the Real Estate world but didn't know how rewarding it could be.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

I bring specialized training and hands?on experience from my time in the Department of Corrections, where I taught conflict resolution and tactical verbal skills. That work strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, stay composed under pressure, and guide others through challenging situations. As an ultra?marathoner with over 100 marathons completed, I also draw on deep resilience and discipline that directly benefit the people I support.

Joe Schrum was a true professional representing us as buyers. When I moved to Sierra Vista in 2024, I was still settling in and a pre-approval was lower than what I was looking for based on the job I had at the time. Joe was very patient with us, he waited until we were ready to buy a home. Then when we were ready at the end of 2025, he immediately was very engaged and helped us find the perfect home for our needs, listening to what we were truly looking for in a home. I cannot express how great Joe truly is as a agent. If I ever need to sell, I am certainly giving Joe a call and will work with him again. All my friends looking to buy, I will give them his card.
