ZillowVERIFIED Before I talk about Joanne, I'd first like to describe a bad experience I had previously with a different realtor.Last summer, I listed my mother's home in a retirement community for sale with the agency that operates out of the community clubhouse. The agent took photos with her tablet which turned out blurry when the slideshow was posted online and either did not know how/did not want to be bothered to take it down or fix the problem. She suggested the asking price and within two weeks decided it was too high and wanted me to lower it. I asked to be informed of when the house was being shown, and often came in to find lights left on, curtains in disarray, and other evidence that someone had been in there without my knowledge. Just as the listing was ending, I was presented with one offer that was $24,000 below the asking price which was unacceptable to me.This spring when I relisted the property (after some improvements which the other agent had discouraged), I wanted to be sure I chose the right person for the job. I visited 12 different open houses to meet area agents from various companies and invited 6 of them to view the house.Joanne came the very next day armed with a beautifully prepared market analysis and a clear marketing plan which included both print advertising and an aggressive internet presence. It was evident she was a true professional who is serious about her job. I could tell she had the tenacity and work ethic I was looking for, so I chose her over the five others.She had a professional photographer take pictures that were just gorgeous and she wrote a concise, informative description for the listing that really captured the essence of the house. When I noticed the posted listing had some inaccuracies in the description of the property, she made the corrections immediately. The agent from last summer presented the house in a way that made buyers feel they would need to do work ("You could knock out this wall.."), while Joanne sold it as a perfectly lovely house as it exists in its current state.She kept me informed of each time the house was shown and what feedback was given by potential buyers.After only eight days on the market, I was presented with a cash offer which was $5000 above the asking price from last summer.She was on top of all the steps necessary in the process before closing, from obtaining the fire inspection CO to the final water meter reading.I felt as though she was always in my corner as the seller and she made what can be a daunting experience a pleasure.
