FAQ
Key Advice for a Homebuyer
1. Get Pre-Approved First
Before even looking at homes, connect with a trusted lender to get pre-approved. This helps you understand your budget, shows sellers you’re serious, and gives you a competitive edge when making offers.
2. Know Your Must-Haves vs. Nice-to-Haves
Make a clear list of what you must have (like number of bedrooms, location, or parking) and what would just be a bonus (like a finished basement or granite countertops). This keeps you focused and prevents overwhelm.
3. Don’t Just Buy the House — Buy the Location
You can change paint, flooring, and even layout down the line, but you can’t change the neighborhood. Pay attention to commute times, school districts, resale potential, and community vibe.
4. Be Ready to Act Quickly
In competitive markets, homes can go under contract fast. Be prepared to tour promptly and submit offers confidently. This is where having a REALTOR® who is sharp, responsive, and strategic makes all the difference.
5. Think Long-Term
Consider where you’ll be in 5–10 years. Will this home still suit your lifestyle? Is it a good investment? You want stability and growth potential.
6. Budget for More Than the Down Payment
Closing costs, inspections, appraisals, moving expenses, and even post-closing updates (like appliances or furniture) all add up. A good rule of thumb is to have at least 2–5% of the purchase price saved beyond your down payment.
7. Lean on Your REALTOR®’s Expertise
This process can be emotional. A skilled agent (like me ?) keeps you grounded, negotiates on your behalf, protects your interests, and guides you every step of the way.
ey Advice for a Home Seller
1. Price It Right from the Start
Overpricing can scare buyers away and cause the home to sit on the market. Underpricing can leave money on the table. A comparative market analysis (CMA) from your REALTOR® helps you find the sweet spot where your home will attract strong offers quickly.
2. First Impressions Matter
Curb appeal sells. Simple things like fresh mulch, trimmed hedges, power washing, and a welcoming front door make buyers want to see more.
3. Stage to Sell
Declutter, depersonalize, and brighten. Neutral tones, open spaces, and inviting layouts help buyers picture themselves in the home. Even small touches — like fresh flowers, soft lighting, and clean countertops — make a huge impact.
4. Be Flexible with Showings
The easier it is for buyers to view your home, the faster it will sell. Try to keep your schedule flexible and the house “show-ready.”
5. Highlight Upgrades and Features
If you’ve updated the kitchen, replaced the roof, or added solar panels, make sure buyers know. These details add value and differentiate your home.
6. Prepare for the Inspection
Minor repairs (leaky faucets, chipped paint, loose handrails) can look bigger than they are. Fixing them before listing reduces the chance of surprises that could delay or derail a deal.
7. Understand the Market Conditions
Your home doesn’t exist in a vacuum — interest rates, inventory, and buyer demand all affect how quickly and profitably you’ll sell. A REALTOR® can guide you on when and how to list strategically.
8. Keep Emotions in Check
It’s natural to feel attached, but once you decide to sell, think of it as a business transaction. Your goal is to maximize value and move on to your next chapter.
9. Lean on Your REALTOR®’s Expertise
From pricing and marketing to negotiations and closing, a skilled agent knows how to protect your interests and bring you the best possible deal.
Thus far in my Real Estate career I have only worked with buyers buy I also would love to work with Sellers and Investors.
43 Ash Street is a transaction that I will never forget. Although all the transactions that I have completed with my client each have their own success story. I am VERY fond of 43 Ash street because the buyers are Haitian immigrants who left their homeland to build a better life for their family. They entered into the United States from Chile and worked hard in every way to be the homeowners they are today. It was a joy to see and help them close on their first home.
Buying my first home is what got me started in Real Estate. During my journey I had the burning desire to be an advocate, counselor, and a TRUSTED REALTOR for those who to buy, sell, and or invest.
I am dually licensed in MA and RI
