We had connected with Joan years earlier, and every time we reached out to Joan over the years Joan was always quick to respond and to encourage us to come up and see houses. When we finally got serious and were able to meet IRL, Joan was quick to understand our likes and dislikes, and was always available to show houses. Her advice on every house was always insightful and 100% honest and unbiased, and her knowledge of Ulster County was crucial to our decision making process. ZillowVERIFIED I met Joan one afternoon when I stopped by the real estate office looking for some quick information - I ended up sitting down and chatting with her for a half hour, about the area (Woodstock to be specific) the people, Brooklyn, nature, food, music and dining. We covered a lot in that first meeting, and continued to chat and get to know one another over the course of a year and a half long search for our property. The length of time it took to find the right spot was no indication of Joan's effort to help us, we were just being picky! With every frantic email or property inquiry, every late night text or sale that fell through, Joan always supported every decision we made, thoughtfully offering advice when she felt appropriate and frankly, worked her a** off for us. ZillowVERIFIED My husband and I heard about Joan several years ago when we were looking to purchase a home in the Catskills. We contacted her and worked with her to purchase our home. She was exactly what you would want in an agent--incredibly knowledgeable (not only about the area, but about the process and all the little quirks that are specific to that market as well as who to call for every service and every situation), friendly but tough when needed (with the other side), responsive at all hours, diligent, honest (she always has your interest at heart even to the point where it might mean a smaller sale or even no sale and no commission for her) and respectful (she will provide her opinion, but she is always careful to be respectful of what you want and what your opinions are). Fast forward several years when we are looking to purchase another home and we did not think twice before contacting Joan again. And the experience has been exactly the same (if not better) than the first. This time around, our needs were very specific and very different and my husband was not able to come to most appointments. I'm sure this was difficult and annoying since it slowed down the process, but Joan was nothing but patient, kind and so hard working. She remembered my preferences from years ago and also quickly learned what had changed and accommodated that almost immediately. She also guided us through the market which was very different from when we first purchased. One time, Joan predicted that we would like a house that had just gone on the market. She (gently) asked if I could come to see it right away because she didn't think it would last until the weekend when I had planned on coming. I did not listen! And sure enough, the house had an accepted offer the day she said it would. We viewed it anyway, and just as Joan had predicted, I fell in love with the house and was so disappointed to have missed out on it. Through this all, she was cheerful and kind and told us not to worry since we would find something else... which we did. We found something we liked even better and although the house had several offers almost immediately, Joan helped guide us in being able to have our offer accepted. We are planning on putting our other home on the market in 2018 and of course, are planning on listing it with Joan. She has been there for us throughout the years any time we needed any advice about the area and she has become someone we consider a friend. I would truly recommend Joan (and have to friends).

She has a vast amount of experience in the industry and knows all its ins and outs, has an excellent rapport with other agents (so they react well to her in negotiations), and is adamant and highly adept at looking out for and pushing for her clients' best interests. We were considering a move from NYC to the Woodstock area and Joan was kind enough to humor us, even though we told her in the beginning that we were really 'just browsing' and not looking to buy anything at that time.
