During the construction process, we were on overseas travle for more than 2 months. I kept encountering major delays due to shortage and/or price surge of every constructing material. Eventually the process took lot longer than what I initially expected. By the time when my house started to shape into a human dwelling, and I thought I was done waiting and suffering, now was the turn of interest rates to jump up. My closing date was not settled yet, thus the interest rate couldn't be locked. All I could do was to wait and watch. I started to feel less and less patient. And then I met Jing as my loan consultant. She had been such a great relief during these trying circumstances. She understood my situation very well, and helped me in the exact way I needed. I never had to chase her once to have my questions answered. She monitored the interest rates and proactively updated me. When a major market change occured, she went ahead and emailed me a quick summary, which provided the information about interest rate, points, and my resulting monthly payment. Although I felt well informed about the mortgage plans, deciding the best time to lock the date amid the market fluctuation was not easy. Being inexperienced, I asked for her advice few times. And she was not the kind of consultant who would give me canned answers like "well, it's you to decide". She shared her honest opinion about market outlook, and answered my questions at her best. Her insight helped me to wait with confidence. Finally the day arrived that the interest rate seemed landing on the ground, I was thinking of calling her. Of course, she contacted me first to ask if I was interested to lock the rate now; and sure I was! Indeed, later it turned out to be the best rate I could have in the given time frame. The overall experience with Jing made me feel that I found not only that I found a capable loan manager, but also a good friend who actually cares.
