ZillowVERIFIED We originally found Jill on Trulia. She was immediately friendly and attentive throughout the entire process. The houses she showed us hit most of our wants and needs. When we found the house we ended up buying she was there for us throughout the entire process. It was a VA loan and we were first time buyers and she was always available by phone, text or email. The negotiations were simple enough once she ran the numbers and gave us her recommendation. Her advice that the process would be long periods of nothing followed by short periods of hectic action and not to stress it too much, was spot on. She worked with the seller's agent, our attorney, and our loan officer to smooth out the process and help us close on the house in early June of 2014, right within 2 days of our estimated close date. She even stayed in contact afterwards to make sure all the odds and ends were taken care of. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone we know that's in the market.

ZillowVERIFIED There are so many good things to say about Jill that it's tough to know where to start so instead I'll start with the ending...: Jill is the finest real estate professional I've ever worked with and our whole family works in the industry. My mother decided to move to Connecticut and began her search for a home in Milford. After seeing many homes on her own, she eventually met Jill at one of Jill's various open houses. It was a great house but not quite right for my mother (who had very specific needs and preferences) but she was so impressed by Jill's warmth, professionalism and knowledge of the real estate market, she decided to work exclusively with Jill to find her new home. I was very surprised my mother decided to work with a broker because our whole family is in the industry so we are used to "doing it ourselves" but after I joined my mother for a few showings with Jill, I immediately saw why she was so impressed. Jill always stuck to our guidelines, never tried to push anything on us and always had a great attitude. When my mother eventually decided to look at neighborhoods closer to New York City, she thought she'd have to find a different broker because Jill was based primarily in the Milford/Trumbull area. Jill didn't miss a beat and ended up finding my mother exactly what she wanted in Westport, CT. Not only did Jill find her a home in a neighborhood she thought she'd never be able to afford, she negotiated tirelessly with the seller's agent to get her an even better price. When it came time to close, several issues came up and while we had trouble getting the attorney and the bank to do their jobs, Jill just kept solving problem after problem, keeping us on track to close where I have no doubt any other agent couldn't have kept the deal from falling through. I can't imagine anyone having done a better job and Jill continues to check in on my mom from time to time going on over two years now since the closing.

Having worked directly with her in another field for many years, I know her to be an extremely pleasant, organized, reliable and genuinely caring person. To her credit, those outstanding qualities are ones that extend throughout both her personal and professional lives.Through my experience with realtors during three home sales/purchases, I found that most realtors would try to entice me into buying a home that cost just above what I told them I could pay, just so their commission would be higher. In an effort to make the home search process go more quickly and smoothly, I handed each of my realtors a short, typed list of the must-have features in a prospective property. Without fail, they'd take me to view everything in the world but what I was asking for, despite my efforts. My last experience with a realtor was the worst. After viewing 50 homes and finally finding one I was interested in, I went to the City Planning Dept. to check on the property's legal standing, easements, etc. I was informed that my targeted property needed a "lot line adjustment," which meant no permits would be issued unless this was addressed. My realtor's reaction to this news? "Oh, don't worry about it. Everyone's properties around here have issues like that and there's never been a problem." This reaction, coming from THE top local Century 21agent in my area, was unbelievable! I later learned that if the home purchase had gone through without the lot line issue being addressed, it would have cost me anywhere between $15-$20K out of my own pocket, to rectify it. In addition, I ended up doing most of the legwork that the realtor should have handled. I really don't know what she was paid thousands of dollars for except to find the house and do a little paperwork!In order to avoid a repeat of scenarios such as this, I went to Jill for an agent referral in my area, as I live on the West Coast. As I expected, she put me in touch with a couple of agents who had much higher standards than the run-of-the-mill agents and I was extremely happy working with the one I chose.My advice to anyone looking for a real estate agent in Connecticut, is to work with Jill. She WILL listen to what you want in a home. She won't waste your time taking you to view homes that obviously don't suit your needs and she'll go the extra mile to ensure your purchase goes cleanly and smoothly ... addressing any issues you may have to your satisfaction.Plainly stated ... what working with Jill would mean to you, as a potential home buyer or seller, is it will save you lots of time, a boatload of aggravation, give you great peace of mind and eliminate the effort of having to do extra legwork to ensure a sound transaction.Sincerely,Lisa Marie Amato
