ZillowVERIFIED Looking at Mr. Morris's experience - all the reviews on this site was for rentals. He was engaged to sell our home. Little or no communication; would not return phone calls/texts, etc. We have lodged a complaint with the Maine Real Estate Commission about our experience. We tried to address our concerns with his agency, Keller Williams/Mateja Group early on; resulting in no change. If you really want someone representing you - the seller - do your research. Dreadful experience - he wouldn't even attend the closing.

I am a widow who was in the unenviable position of having to sell land my husband and I purchased as part of our post-retirement dream. When I came to the heart-wrenching decision to sell the land, I reached out to a realtor friend who researched the Mateja group. While she didnt talk with the man who was ultimately my representative, she felt the group as a whole was experienced and supportive. After signing the contract, I realized what a terrible mistake I had made. I was given two aEURoecompsaEUR? for my land: one with the sale price of under $900 and acre and one for under $2000. When I asked Phil, my realtor representative, what I should charge, he said, aEURoeYoure the boss.aEUR? When I pushed, he suggested I sell for the purchase price 12 years ago. Incredulous, I asked, aEURoeI should sell for a loss?aEUR?. Again he replied, aEURoeYoure the boss.aEUR? I went on Zillow to see what land was selling for in the Bucksport area. It was almost all higher than what his suggestion was. When I confronted him, he trashed Zillow (ironically the firm clearly uses the Zillow platform for their recommendations) as unreliable and hinted that it was unethical.I made up a price that I thought was reasonable. Fortunately, my neighbors wanted the land and offered a reasonable starting bid. When I asked Phil what I should do, he said, aEURoeYoure the boss.aEUR? In frustration, I snapped, that I was unfamiliar with the market and that was the point of hiring him! He responded with something on the order of, aEURoeone in the handaEUR|.aEUR? to indicate I should simply accept the offer. So I asked him to wait and went back to my realtor friend to ask her advice and what a good counter offer might be. While I was doing that, Phil called the other realtor to ask the buyers to increase their price...not a counter offer, just an invitation to pay more.They, unsurprisingly, refused.When I contacted Phil again, I was less than pleased at this bizarre tactic...from a supposedly experienced realtor. I asked him to counter with the number my friend had suggested. The buyers came up a bit and I accepted the offer as the best I was going to get. Ultimately, I got the original purchase price with Phil skimming off what little aEURoeprofitaEUR? I might have made.
