ZillowVERIFIED Jean was such a pleasure to work with. She listed and carefully staged the house that we fell in love in. It was very impressive what she did with the listing - digging out the history of the house, framing surveys, local maps and pictures of the house in different years for display, packing away all the stuff accumulated by the sellers over near 5 decades. She presented to us this 150 year old house with all its charm but non of the cluster.We immediately asked her to act as our buyers agent as well upon seeing the house - just for the convenience of the transaction. Jean turned out to be a surprisingly great buyers' agent as well. She didn't simply rush us towards signing the contract and getting the deal done. Instead she urged us to do all the due diligence of critical inspection work, cautioned us on typical things to look out for with houses in the area and gave many other useful tips about the neighborhood. On top of that, she even invited us to her dinner party and introduced us to other people who newly moved into the neighborhood - all after the housing transaction was done.Jean is such a great person to work with and with such in-depth knowledge of the area. You would not regret to have her as your agent. You'd be especially glad you have her on your side when you need to figure out how the property tax grievance works in this weird Westchester bureaucracy, or how the never-heard-of and yet quintessential papers required for closing could be obtained - such as a "predate CO". If you need to Google what that is, you know you need a local expert like Jean.

ZillowVERIFIED Prior to listing our home for sale, my wife and I interviewed potential real estate brokers to determine which one would most likely help us to attain our objectives (which, among other things, included our strong desire to sell the home promptly without having to take any price reductions and to effectively establish an appropriate (i.e., not overstated) listing price). We are so happy we chose Jean Cameron-Smith to be our real estate broker.Before we met with Jean for the first time, she had done her homework and had extensive knowledge of our home and neighborhood. We quickly determined we could effectively work with Jean and she was always responsive to our needs. Before we listed the home for sale, Jean identified an experienced interior decorator who assisted us in understanding what was required to promptly sell our home (e.g., eliminating items that potential buyers would construe as clutter) and what features needed to be highlighted. Jean also provided guidance concerning a landscaping project she recommended be completed before listing our property for sale. When my husband and I made the decision to move from the city to Northern Westchester we had no idea where to start so we saw a couple of places but hadn't connected with a broker yet. The day we met Jean I knew the process was going to improve. She showed us several homes for weeks, always answered our questions and helped us narrow down the town we felt was right for us. A month after we began our search we completely changed our goal, to find a cute home near a town center versus several acres outside the town and she was happy to switch up the search with us.
