Jay Grimmett

A native of coastal North Carolina Jay found his passion for the mountains while attending college at Western Carolina University. While in college he studied Parks and Recreation management with an emphasis in Camp Administration Management. He was an active member of The Western Carolina Rugby Football Club as well as a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity.



After college he accepted a position with North Carolina State University and given the responsibility of helping create a summer camping experience for hundreds of campers from around the state. While working for the summer camps Jay met his wife Amanda and eventually migrated to Charleston SC. In Charleston Jay briefly worked building small sail boats marketed and designed for camp settings, until he accepted a position with the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission where he worked as a Challenge Course Instructor. Leading both youth groups and cooperate groups through a series of activities designed to help them communicate and work better as a team.



After Jay's wife Amanda graduated college from the College of Charleston they decided to pack all their belongings and move to Asheville. As an outdoor enthusiast Jay enjoys the many activities the Asheville area has to offer from whitewater rafting and tubing the French Broad to hiking around the Blue Ridge Mountains
