Come for a visit and you will stay. Our little golden corner is like going back in time. We are close to everything but when you get home you are home to peace & quiet.

Clemson University is just down the road. College games, golf course and other benefits. College atmosphere.

Keowee, Hartwell and Jocassee are our public lakes as well as Chattooga, Crystal, Becky, Whitewater, Fiddlers Cove and Cherokee are our private lakes. We have 80 waterfalls in the county and over 500 with in an hours drive.

We have 150 miles of hiking trails in the county. Great fishing, 10 golf courses and plenty of weekly activities to get involved with.

Our library system is one of the best. over 60,000 books per month are checked out. We have about 30 computers for public use, daily newspapers and magazies for all interests.

Our property values are good, our taxes are low and the general cost of living here is low.

Gwen was fantastic to work with in selling our property on Lake Hartwell. She was responsive to any questions I had concerning readying the property to sell. I felt that Gwen was very frank and open in her discussions with me. The sale of our property was part of a divorce settlement and she was very communicative with both of us separately which made the transaction go easier for me. All in all, I can honestly say, Gwen went above and beyond to work with me to sell this property. It took being patient and waiting for the right buyer. She was willing to do this and much more! Gwen did an outstanding job helping an ownership group of four, siblings and cousins, sell our old family home that had belonged to our grandma in Mountain Rest. This was quite a feat as she had to deal with four owners. Her communication skills were excellent as there were various concerns by the many owners. It was hard for me to let go of such a precious family inheritance, but it was time and Gwen is the way through the whole process. Gwen showed the home frequently, found us a cash buyer And lead us through the process of accepting that offer, suggesting helpers and workers to help us prepare the property for sale and in cleaning it out before closing . Gwen took on selling our lot in Jocassee Ridge over a year ago. To say it was hard is an understatement! We were told by several aEURoeexperts aEURoe that it was not buildable and that we should just give it away. Gwen had faith that she could sell it to the right couple. She did! We have bought two houses and subsequently sold one of the two houses through Gwen Fowler Real Estate. This repeat business has happened because of the professionalism, follow-through and results demonstrated to us by the Gwen Fowler Real Estate Team. Gwen has an in-depth knowledge of the area that her company represents. Communications are excellent and always followed-up. The Team is not afraid to "get their hands dirty" and was demonstrated to us on our recent sell when the well pump failed a week before closing and Gwen and Henry coordinated and pitched in to get the repair and subsequent repair completed within a week window. AMAZING GWEN..!!!!!! Yes, amazingaEUR|or should I just say AWESOMENESS!!?? By the luck of an impromptu phone call, inquiring about land in the area of Lake Keowee, SC, I was fortunate enough to make contact with Gwen Fowler. I was calling from out of state, about purchasing land to build a retirement home in South Carolina on Lake Keowee. This was a dream of mine to live on a lake, however I was not familiar with the area and was 700 miles away. Over the phone, Gwen was patient in listening to this person from out of state with a LONG list of crazy questions. I could tell she was taking notes and intently listening to my wants, needs and concerns. Instead of inundating my email with a barrage of unrelated property listings, I received specific properties based on our convo of my needs and wants. This was my first indication that I have a great realtor working for me. In addition, during all my communications with Gwen and my trips to South Carolina to see property, I was so impressed with her extreme detailed knowledge of the Lake Keowee area, along with her sincere answers and advice. She kept me informed of situations in the area and made sure the property areas were drama free and void of any pitfalls that I may not have been familiar with. For the next several month and after many phone calls, emails, texts and trips to South Carolina, I found and purchased a property. As I mentioned I was buying from out a state, not a very comfortable situation for a buyer spending money. However, Gwen took care of making that very stress free. Gwen was so instrumental, involved and helpful during this transaction, that I felt as if I was in SC doing this with her. The coordination by Gwen of lawyers, banks, county officials, dock permitting, septic approval, property surveying and myself was so seamless and super smooth. Also, just to note, Gwen and her husband Henry, personally went to the property that I was buying that was very over grown with brush to stake out a possible house and septic location for me in order to get my septic inspection. There were many other personal addressments and travels I called on her for, but this one selfless act in itself is a true testament of her sincere efforts to help her clients. Gwen has exceptional knowledge about the areas she serves. She was able to really educate us on the towns and lakes in Oconee County. 21 years ago Gwen helped us find a few acres of beautiful mountain property. Recently, within 60 days of notice, Gwen helped us sell the property at a great price. In 2011 we were going to put a lot of land up for sale. I ask a friend in the Real Estate business for appraisel. He gave me the price that the county had it appraised for.
