FAQ
My biggest advice to a buyer is to be patient, stay realistic, and don’t let the process overwhelm you. Buying a home is a big decision, and you don’t have to figure everything out at once.
Start by knowing what you can comfortably afford—not just what you can technically qualify for. Then make a list of the things you really need in a home versus the things you would simply like to have. Very few houses are perfect, and sometimes the right house is the one that checks the important boxes and just feels like home.
Once you find it, trust the process. There will be inspections, negotiations, paperwork, and probably a few stressful moments along the way. That’s normal. My job is to help you understand what matters, what doesn’t, and make sure you have the information you need to make good decisions.
And most importantly, don’t ever feel pressured to buy a home
My biggest advice to a seller is to try to look at your home through a buyer’s eyes. You know all the memories and love that have gone into your home, but a buyer is seeing it for the first time.
Price it realistically from the beginning, make it as clean, bright, and inviting as possible, and take care of the little things that might distract a buyer. You don’t have to spend a fortune or make everything perfect—sometimes a few simple changes can make a huge difference.
Once we’re on the market, listen to the feedback and be willing to adjust if the market is telling us something. The goal isn’t just to get your home sold; it’s to get you where you need to go and to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Selling a home can be emotional and stressful at times. My job is to be honest with you, protect your interests, handle the details, and help you make good decisions along the way. We’re a team, and we’ll get through it together.
I’ve worked with just about every type of buyer and seller—from first-time homebuyers who need a little extra guidance, to experienced buyers, investors, families upsizing or downsizing, and people relocating to or from the Bloomington area. I’ve also helped clients with new construction, investment properties, estates, and homes that need a little extra work or creative problem-solving to get them sold.
Every client and every situation is different, and that’s one of the things I love about real estate. I try to meet people where they are, listen to what they need, and help them through the process in a way that feels comfortable and never pressured.
One of my favorite recent transactions was helping a client who wasn’t completely sure what her next step should be. There were a few challenges along the way, and it wasn’t one of those perfectly smooth transactions—but honestly, those are often the ones I remember most.
We worked through each issue as it came up, talked through her options, and made decisions based on what was best for her rather than just trying to get to the closing table. In the end, everything came together and she was genuinely happy with where she landed.
Those are the transactions I love. Of course I want to sell houses, but what matters most to me is that when it’s all over, my client feels good about the decisions they made and knows I was there for them throughout the process.
I actually got started in real estate by taking pictures for another Realtor. As I spent more time around the business, I realized how much I loved the whole process—not just the houses, but the people.
I loved seeing buyers get excited when they found the home that felt right, and I enjoyed helping sellers get their homes ready to show at their very best. I realized pretty quickly that real estate was something I genuinely enjoyed and that helping people through such an important time in their lives was something I wanted to do.
What started with taking pictures turned into a career I truly love.
Some of my best training has come from watching and learning from some of the most experienced and successful Realtors in our market. I was fortunate to be surrounded by people who were willing to teach me, and I paid attention—how they handled negotiations, solved problems, worked with clients, and navigated difficult transactions.
Real estate is a business where you never stop learning. Every transaction teaches you something new, and I’ve always tried to take those lessons and use them to become a better Realtor and advocate for my clients.
