Q: 1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

Take your time, ask questions, and make sure the home truly fits the way you want to live. For many buyers, especially those downsizing or buying later in life, this is not just about square footage. It is about comfort, convenience, and lifestyle. Surround yourself with a trusted team that will walk you through each step, understands the season of life you are in, and protects you from feeling rushed into something that is not right.

Q: 2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Prepare your home thoughtfully, both emotionally and physically. Letting go of a home filled with memories can be difficult, so it helps to focus on the future and the opportunities ahead. On the practical side, small updates, decluttering, and good presentation can make a big difference. Most importantly, work with an agent who understands your goals, communicates clearly, and advocates for you throughout the entire process.

Q: 3. What types of clients have you worked with?

I work with people in all stages of life—from first-time buyers to seasoned investors. That said, I specialize in helping seniors and baby boomers who are ready to downsize, right-size, or transition into a new chapter. I’ve also worked extensively with military families, young professionals, and families upgrading into their “forever” homes.

Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

I recently had the privilege of helping a family sell their parents’ longtime home. It was filled with memories and meant so much to them, so they needed an agent who would handle it with care. We took the time to prepare the home properly, guided them through each step, and celebrated when it sold quickly to a new family who will create their own memories there. Seeing the relief and joy on my clients’ faces reminded me why I love this work.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

I’ve always had a passion for both sales and real estate. After working in the dental field for 17 years, I decided to try something new. As my career progressed, I felt drawn to helping people closer to my age with downsizing. I understand the emotions that come with this transition and what they are going through, and it’s become my calling to guide them through the process with care and understanding.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

Yes, I hold the SRES® (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) designation, which means I have advanced training in helping clients 55+ navigate downsizing, retirement moves, and estate planning considerations. I also hold the MRP (Military Relocation Professional) designation, allowing me to serve military families with care and efficiency. In addition, I’ve been a Realtor for 20+ years, which gives my clients the benefit of deep experience, proven systems, and trusted local connections.

Gayla was amazing from start to finish. She was super responsive to phone calls, emails etc. She helped us understand how to price our home and to sell effectively. Her team helped us get our house ready for sale, took pictures and measurements, and had the listing posted within days. She really uses technology effective to sell your house. We were so pleased with the service we received from Gayla and also Team Leathers, especially Desiree. They were so good to work with us during the holidays right after Christmas and we are so thankful that they set aside so much time for us. We really appreciate the way they worked with us long distance all the way up until 10:30 PM on New Years' Eve to get the Purchase Agreement and necessary paperwork signed!!! They always responded to our calls, Emails and texts very quickly, even at nights and on Sundays! We appreciate how much attention they gave us during the very challenging process since we were moving from another state and had a very short time frame in which to do it. And even since our closing, they have still been there for us. We are so grateful for everything they did for us!!
