As a lifelong North Carolinian, Gary has been fortunate enough to have lived in several cities throughout the state from the mountains to the coast. Prior to real estate, his career was in big box retail store management. Upon graduating from East Carolina University, he joined Wal-Mart stores and was transferred to Elkin, NC. Soon after he worked in Hickory, NC and later became the store manager in Taylorsville, NC. After successfully converting that store into a supercenter, he took an opportunity to join Target stores and relocated to Jacksonville, NC and then on to Wilmington.
He still remembers his first house hunting trip that happened in late October. His wife and him took some time to walk down to the beach only to see everyone in their bathing suits enjoying the beautiful weather. He felt like they had switched seasons as back home the leaves had already turned, and winter was well on its way. He remembers thinking to himself "I could sure get used to this place!"
After a successful career in retail and collaborating with people to build and ensure customer satisfaction, real estate became a natural fit for him. He thinks the best part of real estate is that he can exclusively focus on the needs of his client. His wife is a teacher at Masonboro Elementary school, and they have two daughters Caroline and Lauren. Lauren is an athletic trainer at Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine in Holly Springs, NC and Caroline has graduated and followed in her mother's footsteps as a 1st grade teacher here in Wilmington at Bradley Creek Elementary. He is very in tune with school related issues and always advise buyers to make this a major part of their decision-making process.
