About Gary Ahrens

The Ahrens Team offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate in Maryland. Gary and Kathy Ahrens joined the real estate industry in 2000 by purchasing and renovating properties and have rented and sold numerous homes for their investment portfolio since then. Kathy obtained her Realtor license in 2006, and Gary, after a 26-year career in education and nine years owning a home remodeling company, secured his license in 2013 to form the Ahrens Team. They have lived in the greater Baltimore-Washington area for decades and know the area and its real estate market thoroughly. They are known for their integrity, attention to detail, and caring customer relationships. In 2019, the Ahrens Team expanded with the addition of Realtor Tim Halter. As a former full-time tennis professional, coach, and business owner, Halter brings 17 years of client care experience to his new role. The Ahrens Team has a wide network of trusted service providers they've developed over many years of conducting business in both real estate and home remodeling and restoration. And, as a team under the award-winning Keller Williams umbrella, they have direct and immediate access to myriad resources in the real estate industry. Ahrens Team realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, and Howard County Association of Realtors. In addition, Gary and Kathy are members of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and KW Luxury Homes International. They serve on the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) at Keller Williams Realty Centre and are certified Quantum Leap (QL) instructors for educational nonprofit Keller Williams Kids Can (KWKC). Currently, Kathy serves on the board of the HCPSS Academy of Finance.

My husband and I cannot recommend Gary and Kathy enough! We had never sold a house before and they walked us through the entire process! They gave us great guidance on how to clear out and prep the house, they answered all of our questions (we had a lot), and they provided great professional counsel. They did a great job pricing our house and explaining how they reached that conclusion, really demonstrating a solid understanding of the market and area. Our house sold incredibly quickly and I truly believe it was because Gary and Kathy helped us prepare it, knew how to price it and how to best market it. I am so thankful that we had them as our realtors and I absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I first met Kathy and Gary 9 years ago when they walked me through the process of buying my first home. When I was ready this year to sell it and buy a new home, I knew they were the team to call. They are excellent in their communication and very responsive to any questions. When I saw the listing of my dream home on Zillow they were able to get me into a showing right away, and advised me on a strong but fair offer which got me the home even in the midst of a lot of buyer competition. When it came to selling my first home, they made the process so easy and seamless which resulted in it selling quickly and above my asking price. Their operations manager, Tina is was incredibly kind and quick in communication. The whole team is a dream to work with! It?s nice to be able to have knowledgable people you can trust. I would 100% recommend them to anyone!
