Freddie Edwards

I was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1956 and my family moved to the near West End in 1964. I attended Hermitage High School and have lived and worked in Henrico County my entire life. I have been married to my wife Wanda for forty years and we have two daughters and a granddaughter. My wife and I enjoy vacationing at the Outer Banks where we hope to retire some day. My favorite author is Nelson DeMille, and favorite music ranges from classic rock to blues. I have volunteered at Short Pump and Gayton Elementary Schools, Byrd Middle and Godwin High School and I am a Former Campaign Leader of the Greater Richmond YMCA Seeds of Hope Campaign. After several years of non career sales positions, I began my Real Estate career with Joyner and Company Realtors in 1987. When Crawley Joyner decided to retire in 1998 I moved my Real Estate License to The JJH Corporation. The JJH Corporation is a small, but successful Real Estate sales and development company founded by John J. (Jack) Hanky in 1974. although the only non family member at JJH, I always enjoyed a family like relationship with Jack and his wonderful family. While at JJH, I earned my Brokers License. To earn a real estate broker's license in Virginia, you have to be in business for at least three years and pass a thorough exam that encompasses law, appraisal, management, finance and most important, ethics. Few agents take their career to this highest level. Becoming a broker shows my commitment to be as knowledgeable as possible for the benefit of my clients. I have one employee that works part-time assisting me with Real Estate Sales, Leasing and Property Management. My knowledge of real estate extends beyond the residential and commercial sales transaction. Over the years I have been involved in land development, rezoning, property renovation, and new home construction. I also own and manage residential rental property through FDE Management, a subsidiary of Edwards & Company Real Estate and am a land and business owner in Henrico and Goochland County. After my 25th year in Real Estate, I found my new home working with people who have the same commitment and passion for Real Estate as I do. Metropolitan Real Estate offers the level of service you expect, but in a personal and attentive way only a small family owned independent company could provide. All of us at Metropolitan are true natives of the area and do everything we can to promote our area and not national concerns. Representing Colonial Homecrafters LTD. in several neighborhoods allows me to work with many different types of buyers to achieve their new home dreams. Real estate should not be something practiced at nights or weekends. A full time agent is best suited to react to your needs and be able to keep pace with an ever-changing market. You wouldn't want a part-time Doctor or Dentist, don't trust your most important transactions to a part-time Realtor. Real Estate is my career and my passion, not a hobby.
