ZillowVERIFIEDOur journey started with Fatima maybe 2 years ago. My wife and I and a young but not-too-young married couple looking to buy our first house. We saw a fixer-upper online and clicked on the Zillow link to send us a random realtor. We didnt know it at the time, but were lucky to get Fatima. She treated us as serious buyers, understood what we were looking for, didnt push questionable houses on us, gave us her real opinion, was professional but not uncomfortably professional. We put in offers on different properties and the same day our offer was accepted, I was laid off from work. We pulled the offer. While unemployed, Fatima would send texts asking how were doing, sending her well wishes, but not in a pushy sense. You felt it was genuine. My mother-in-law even dog sit for her while she went away. Fast forward to 1.5 years later, after getting settled my wife and I were back in the hunt. We called Fatima. Some people couldve been turned off by the first go around with us but she was eager to help us. Like the first time around, we asked her to show us all types of properties in northern Westchester, Southern Dutchess... basically everywhere except her backyard. As the process goes, we saw some properties, some looking great on paper but underwhelming in person until we saw the house we ultimately purchased. Fatima knew we were not afraid of a fixer upper and this was one of those. She had all the recommended contacts one would need - inspector, contractors, engineers, mold inspector, mortgage company and so on - all of which we used and would recommend. As in any home purchase process, there were frustrations (primarily w the mortgage PROCESS, not the company) but Fatima and the mortgage company she recommended were there to walk us through options and persistent in finding solutions. During the offer negotiations, Fatima fought to get us every dollar off the asking. Although it's not guaranteed for everyone, we shaved off $33K off asking, a sizable number percentage-wise. She counseled us through these negotiations. She was ALWAYS available to us and was there not just til the closing but continues to check on us post-closing. We cant wait to have her over when we're done with the renovations!
