She by far was the most professional agent we met during the various open houses we visited that day. She was the only agent who took the initiative to ask if we were looking for an agent and ask for the opportunity to be considered. Before deciding who to work with, we interviewed a number of agents to get a sense of their expertise and knowledge of the volatile SoCal market. Evelyn throughly impressed us with her knowledge, experience, professionalism, and interpersonal skills and we decided to work with her. Evelyn was always available to show us houses and give us her honest opinion on the condition of a home. She also encouraged us to look past the cosmetic, and think of affordable ways to update a home. Going to numerous showings or open houses can normally be taxing, but thanks to Evelyn's great personality we always had a great time. Although my spouse and I were working with a tricky mortgage program (funded by my employer), Evelyn constantly offered creative propositions to make our offers stand out. Her amazing interpersonal skills allow her to build great rapport with seller's agents. Even when our offers weren't accepted, Evelyn took the initiative to stay in contact with seller's agents in case the original deal didn't go through. This would put us in the position to quickly present a back up offer. We weren't the easiest buyers to work with, but she was always patient with us and willing to think of creative strategies. We always felt that she was trustworthy and had our best interest in mind. We're happy to say that thanks to Evelyn's strategies we were able to land a home at asking price and have all of our requested repairs accepted by the seller. We faced a lot of challenges during escrow and Evelyn was persistent and consistent making sure that things got done in a timely manner to the best of her ability. At times my husband and I became frustrated and she comforted us with her words and action. We loved the fact that she was almost always available when we called. If she wasn't available, she would respond quickly to let us know that she would call us back as soon as she could, and she did. There were many typical challenges in this unpredictable housing market, such as a low inventory of affordable homes and the COVID-19 situation that significantly slowed down the home buying process. However, Evelyn went and beyond what is normally expected of a real estate agent. Knowing that I wanted to put in an offer for my now home, Evelyn tried all possible ways to contact the unresponsive selling agent, which is normal in this current market when a house could receive multiple offers within hours of being on the market. She also fought tooth and nail for my rights by renegotiating the contract when the seller wanted to remove all contingencies and include not so reasonable terms, which, again, is not unusual in this particular market. All in all, if you are looking for a genuine real estate agent, look no further.
