ZillowVERIFIED Ernest is a great salesperson. He knows the area and the market. We used his full service plan including a few home improvements. The work was mediocre. Not to my standards for living in the home. Selling our home went smoothly, however purchasing our new home was handled terribly. Ernest waited until the last minute (7 days) to schedule us for looking for a home and closing. Errors were made in scheduling the same workers to move us. The movers damaged the walls along with ruining our sofa and other items. At no point has Ernest taken responsibility for pushing us to the last minute and dropping the ball despite being told. If you are reliant on selling your home to purchase another, I would not recommend using Ernest Berghof. His laid back style left us in a lurch.

We?ve got to say, if this company is any indicator of the people in Santa Rosa, then we chose the right town. We could not have found nicer folks. While that may not be on top of everyone?s list, it?s near the top of ours. This company makes to most of their employee?s core strengths. Peter Foley, our realtor, promptly returned our inquiry and quickly assessed our needs. There was very little inventory on the market, and he expertly shoehorned us to the top of the offers that won us the bid. Birgitte Foley kept us on track with all of the paperwork, and if we needed any sort of resource or service, she had great referrals at hand, for cleaning services, handypersons, contractors, you name it. They include a free home warranty as part of the sale. These guys made this home purchase effortless - we closed on an expedited schedule, leaving us a week to get pulled together prior to beginning a new job here. They make you feel like old friends, and are great ambassadors for this friendly, welcoming town. If we were to rate their service quality, it?s ?premium? from beginning to end? and even after - they?ve been so helpful to us newbies. They are good people, providing top-notch service - even though we were looking in a price range that wasn?t as high as many of their other sales.

ZillowVERIFIED Ernest took our home and marketed it after it had been on a listing with another agent for four months. The other agent had the house during the summer which was prime time and could only get two offers, both which fell through. When Ernest took our listing he told us exactly what his marketing plan was and that he would have an offer within ten days. I was a bit dubious, but he in faction did present us with not one but three offers and the one we accepted was above the asking price. He contacted every Tuesday as promised and gave us updates. He was extremely curtious and made us feel that we finally had someone who could move our house.

I have referred friends and family to him and everyone has spoke of his outstanding personality and professionalism, so naturally when it came to buying my home he was the first I turned to. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that he had a team working with him to make sure everything was very smooth and comfortable, and from the very start Ernest and his buyer client manager, Joshua, gave us a red carpet treatment. This red carpet started with their very unique informative buyer presentation and their thorough communication, which left me feeling confident with the buying process from the beginning! Going out on tours was enjoyable and their hand crafted ?tour book? provided multiple pages of demographics, pictures, and price estimates for each of the properties, providing a stress-free review of each home while making our decision. After our first tour we believed we found the right property. Ernest and Joshua helped us through the decision-making process and we truly felt guided while having control the whole time. They then negotiated an amazing offer for us and submitted all the paperwork as we entered into contract! To make a long story short we slept on it and realized this property was not the one, and Ernest was so understanding of our situation. He guided us through the process of canceling our contract and then we regrouped and went out a week later and found the right one! We had a quick and easy close just in time for Thanksgiving. Ernest had a plan for the sale of our home on the first day we met which he executed and sold the house per the time line. The offer we accepted was one of 6 qualified offers - 5 of which were over asking. Our home was in good shape, but it needed some improvements. Ernest reviewed the improvements we thought were needed and then coached us to make only the improvements that needed. With his guidance the improvements maximize the value of the house with the lowest investment on our part. He managed all of the contractors providing quotes for us to approve before work was started. I received regular updates on the progress and all work was completed on time. Instead, we started our home search online and began touring homes during open houses. Quickly we identified a pattern: walk into house, receive quick greeting followed by ?are you working with an agent? Are you prequalified? Here, sign up for my service to send you homes that meet your criteria?,? tour home and then sneakily make an escape. Even though we knew the questions help agents funnel the serious from non-serious buyers, they routinely felt offensive and intimidating. We?ll never forget the day we met Ernest: we showed up to an open-house, and unlike all other open houses, Ernest had a casual confidence which felt nothing but classy and welcoming. Instantly we knew we wanted him to be our agent. Worried that he would not be interested in helping a first-time home buyer we spent weeks debating whether or not to call him. After calling we learned that clearly was not the case. Ernest is very personable and quick to respond to questions and emails. We can?t tell you how lucky we feel to have connected with him and his team. Ernest met with us in his office and explained the entire process. Ernest was always accommodating with our work schedules ? it was not uncommon for us to conference call on a weekend, at 10pm at night or even while Ernest was vacationing in Hawaii.
