ZillowVERIFIEDExemplary performance from a stand out professional! I was stationed in Germany looking for homes in Alexandria, Virginia. I specifically wanted to do a VA assumption loan, which allows the buyer to inherit the sellers interest rate; some being as low as 3%. This can be quite lucrative especially now considering the average interest rate is 7%. However, these assumption loans are quite rare. Last year, only 3,000 of the approximately 8 million home loans were assumptions meaning I had a .03% chance of getting one. Regardless of the odds, Eric proved his dedication and tenacity everyday. I sent him to scout potential homes from Stafford to DC. He showed me fantastic properties in Mantua and Falls Church. For 6 months, I felt like I was treated as his only client. It was in his best interest to try to sell me on some of these other homes so he could collect his commission quickly. But, he could tell I was not in love with what I was looking at. The fact is, there are minimal homes that have assumption loans and I was slowly giving up. I was prepared to expand my search not using the assumption loan as a discriminating factor. Eric, on the other hand, was undeterred. He told me to keep the faith, and approximately 3 hours later from that fateful conversation he found my dream home. His relentless research and networking led us to a home that was to be listed within 72 hours. It was located in Del Ray, a much sought after neighborhood in Alexandria within walking distance to Old Town. Even better, the assumption loan was 2.25%! Eric's dogged pursuit allowed us to save approximately $900,000 in interest over the course of the loan. When my wife and I met 10 years ago, we always dreamed of living in Del Ray but never thought we could afford to. But, Eric made that happen. He didn't just help us find our new home, he simply made our dreams come true - as corny as that sounds. The day we closed, Eric and I went back to the house and had a celebratory drink. I remember smiling ear to ear grateful to be standing in my family's forever home and saying a toast to a stellar real estate agent and even better friend.
