Eric Berman

Eric Berman is a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker with Compass Greater NY and the founder of The Eric Berman Team in Manhasset. He has sold homes across Long Island and Queens for more than a decade, ranks in the top 1.5% of agents nationwide, and has been named to the RealTrends "America's Best" list.

A large share of his business comes from homes that have already failed to sell once. Sellers call him after a listing expired or came off the market, usually frustrated, often convinced the market is the problem. It rarely is. Eric starts over: a price built from what actually closed nearby, new photography, new copy, and a marketing budget behind it. The second launch is usually the one that works.

The other thing he is known for is the conversation nobody enjoys. When a seller's expectation is above what the comparable sales support, he says so in the first meeting and shows the sales he is looking at. It costs him listings. With buyers, the job is mostly telling them what a house is worth before they fall for it, catching the open permit or the unpermitted addition while there is still room to negotiate, and being honest about the point in a bidding war where walking away is the better outcome.

Before real estate, Eric graduated from Berklee College of Music and played saxophone professionally. He lives in Queens and runs marathons.
