Donna stepped in at every turn and helped us find people to empty it, and to clean it, and then to paint it. When the snow started, she found people to plow it. The first was a unique property with no comparables anywhere in the vicinity. The property had a 5,600 sq foot home, a garage, a workshop, a cottage and a boathouse. It was settled on a small road on a small private lake. Donnas first challenge was to give us a price with no comps to go on, using her extensive knowledge of the market in this Northern New Jersey lake region. This first step in a seller/realtor relationship can be tense and can cast a long shadow if the seller feels the price is too low or if the realtor feels the price is higher than the market will bear. We agreed on the selling price right off the bat! Donna keeps on top of almost all the high-end real estate our area. A house across our road went on the market. I called Donna as soon as I saw the sign on the lawn. Shed already seen it and accessed it in comparison with our home in our unique market. That was one anecdote of many that I could use to describe her uncanny passion for everything real estate. She grilled us on all the specs of the house; heating, windows, insulation, roof etc. She asked a chain of questions, until she really had a feel for the home and its history. Understand, this house was unique in its construction, hence some peculiar heating arrangements, for example, as well as having a very unique history. The home inspector had, as a matter of fact, grown up on the lake and he offered up all kinds of stories involving the house. Small world! This brings me to another great thing about Donna. She can sell! She is great with people and can make people feel at ease, using the right balance of small talk while fielding technical questions, ie. specs, taxes, school district, etc. and entertaining them with colorful lore that went with the history of the house. Every unique home has Stories! Again, with a long and extensive history in this real estate market her instincts are keen and very helpful when reviewing and negotiating offers. Once in contract, Donna is on top of every detail, I mean every detail. I'm pretty obsessive with details but she does not let a ball drop! She knows septic people, pest contractors, surveyors, inspectors the whole cast of characters that come into play when selling a home. She knows many of the attorneys and she is diligent about adhering to the law, especially pertaining to her role in all these transactions. She attends all the inspections and is on top of what is said and promised and provides answers to any concerns. She reports back when the house is seen and stays on top of any interest. In our particular case, she found the buyer and represented us, the sellers, as well. I was very impressed again by her diligent adherence to what the law dictates as proper and just boundaries for a realtor who is representing the interests of both the buyer and the seller. She has an instinctive sense of the right way to go and to see that everyone gets where they need to go. Her instincts and attention to detail are so key to making the real estate transaction run smoothly. Now about the second lake front she sold for us. This property again was unique, but only in construction not in history. It was a 1200 square foot home with a septic limiting occupancy to one bedroom. It also had a very steep driveway, no garage. Everything else was designed and built with exceptional craft and the latest in electric, plumbing, heating, cooling systems. Those qualities were unique in a one bedroom compared to what was being shown in the one bedroom market in our area. . These qualities were going to be offset by the driveway. We were in contract three times before we sold. Very frustrating! However, Donna never stopped pursuing the final sale. She handled every aspect of this sale with the same qualities she had demonstrated in the selling of our first home. Sum it upaEUR|.
