She was honest and frank about the conditions of the houses that were selling quickly in the Kansas City market, and our area in particular. Donna made informed suggestions regarding improvements to our house that would increase its value, almost all of which we did. Since we were out of town owners, she worked with us in finding skilled craftsmen to do the work at a reasonable price, which we very much appreciate. Once it was ready to put on the market, Donna had done a lot of research and set the asking price exactly where it should be, and we had a contract within 3 days. She was a strong and informed advocate for us, gave us helpful advice, and kept us informed throughout contractual negotiation, resolution and closing process. Single Family, Condo, Duplex? Yes, yes, yes. Overland Park, Olathe, Prairie Village? Yes, yes, yes. Older, newer? Yes and yes. After dragging her all over Johnson county into what seemed like hundreds of homes, she finally caught a break and we settled on a great duplex in a quiet, well kept neighborhood. Her patience never wore out and she helped us to the very end. We very actively looked for homes for over 2 months, bid on two homes and in the end competed against other offers for the home we ended up successfully purchasing.Why we liked working with Donna:* She was always available to us and would always promptly respond to email / calls. * She over communicates in order to be very clear that she understands what we want and that we understand what she advises. * She did not push us into homes nor did she push us away from homes. Instead she asked us how we felt about the home after each visit and let us come to our own decisions. If we were unsure, we asked her for her personal/professional opinion and only then would she influence our decision. * Negotiations with the seller's agent were tough and hiccups from delayed appraisals or delayed financing made the purchase process stressful at times. It is easy to get emotional and react to various situations during the process, especially when it involves purchasing something so expensive (a home in the bay area). She helped us to focus on our end goal; to win the bid and then close on the home. She recommended the strategy/approach we needed to take in dealing with the seller's agent * Purchasing a home is a business transaction, but some of the other agents that we interviewed before Donna treat the entire process as purely business (very impersonal and all-business). Our experience with her while professional was also very personal, we got to learn about Donna, her family and likewise she got to know us. What you look for when you choose a realtor may be different for everyone, but I can vouch that with Donna you will get someone who will do her best to help you get the home that you want.
