Buying a house is pretty momentous, but I dont think that ordinarily anyone would remember down to the day when they started. If so, its because they did not have Donna for an agent. Over the course of 2 (2!) weeks, we looked at 31 houses. The house we ended up buying was number 30. During those two weeks, I had such a great time. Donna knew exactly what we wanted, exactly what we needed (often those were two different things!) and was not only patient with us and responsive to calls and questions, but just an all-around blast to be out house-hunting with! She went through all those houses with us & somehow, while we were busy chatting and laughing, she was remembering details about these places and comments we made so that she could make sure we were on the right track. And once we put an offer on the house we now own, she somehow became even more amazing. When problems arose (as they somehow inevitably will) she was right on top of things, making sure that we were getting the absolute best representation possible. She did all of this with her usual good humor and positive attitude, making us feel so relaxed with the process. If I had any anxiety about a situation, she made sure that I knew what was happening, kept me constantly in the loop aEUR" and actually answered questions before I knew I had them. We closed about 2 months after we started looking, and I really believe that Donna was just as overjoyed as we were! I can say without hesitation that if I were ever to buy again (or sell!) The impact that Donna has made on our lives is immeasurable as the investment decisions that Donna guided us through for our first home put us in the position for our second home. During our first home purchase, Donna combed through dozens of houses with us over several months and several towns. As first time home buyers, Donna skillfully talked us into a great investment, and talked us out of several romantic follies (this rambling house will be difficult to heat; this long private driveway is poorly maintained and will be expensive to keep clear during the winter; that lovely pond is related to the musty dampness in the basement; etc etc). Donna handled all negotiation expertly and we came in with an excellent price. She followed through on mold and septic issues through the home inspection, and successfully negotiated for the seller to handle all. For all services she provided very knowledgeable inspectors and contractors. Fast-forward only 3 years and we were in a position, thanks to Donna, to move from Southern NH to Wayland, MA. Like many in the Greater Boston area, we had to offer on multiple properties and contend with cash buyers. Donna was right there arranging second showings and negotiating through multiple offer situations under tight deadlines. She relied on her network to learn specifics on various neighborhoods in each town so we could make informed decisions. With Donna, we ended up in a better neighborhood than we expected (North Wayland) and $100k under our budget. This was after negotiating a price significantly under list. When vermiculite insulation (an asbestos containing product) was discovered in the inspection, Donna negotiated for the Seller to cover costs of remediation and reinsulating the entire attic. This was over $25,000 of work completed without delay to closing so that we could spend the holidays in our new home. Donna is really fantastic as an agent, and a really lovely person. We highly recommend Donna.
