ZillowVERIFIED Donovaun Horne was absolutely delightful to work with. I had a home in northwest Gainesville I have owned for 29 years. Some personal and professional changes in my life made me decide that all good things must come to and end. I met with Donovaun this summer and we had a great conversation. I needed some time to make improvements in the home before it went to market. However I am definitely not good with design. Donovaun was very patient and willing to take 3 months getting the house prepared for market. He helped me find painters. Pick out colors. Find carpet people. Pick out colors. We talked awhile about granite countertops and backsplash. After some deliberation we decided to go for it. He found the granite company and met me there to help pick out the slab we ended up using. The end product was amazing. He even went to Lowe?s with me and helped pick out ceiling fans and found a handyman to take care of much needed repairs. After the home went on the market he was amazing helping navigate the sale. There were a few unexpected twists from some unreasonable buyers, however it all ended well with a bid and contract over listing price I cannot begin to say enough about Donovaun. His professional work is the best I have ever encountered. Time and time again he went the extra mile for me. Much of the work was done while I was out of state and he acted as my eyes. He spent a Friday evening taking care of an emergency plumbing problem in the middle of it all. If I ever come back to Florida I would make my first call to him. He?s amazing!!!

ZillowVERIFIED Donavaun's service and professionalism are unmatched. Not only did he find us a large variety of homes with our needs/wants but he was very accommodating with our difficult schedule. He answers texts/calls/emails faster than anyone else I have ever worked with. He found us a wonderful home inspector who went above and beyond the "normal" for looking at the homes we were interested in. Any time there were issues or disputes with the sellers Donavaun would negotiate for us and did an exceptional job of writing air tight addendums for our contracts. For example, we had found a house we liked, but the inspector noticed a hazard in the home. We asked the seller to fix it and Donavaun wrote up a great amendment to the contract to make sure they used registered professionals to do the work and to show us invoices of the work (to be sure it was done right.) When the sellers refused to do that Donavaun made the process of pulling out of that contract and to find the home we eventually bought a pain free process. He found us a house we love, in the price range we needed, in a good neighborhood, and in the very short time frame we had to find a home. If you want an agent who knows the area, knows banks/inspectors/etc, and who will work tirelessly to find you the right home Donavaun is the best agent you can find. I will never use a different agent in Gainesville. Do yourself a favor and higher him if you want to purchase in Gainesville.

ZillowVERIFIED Donavaun's even nature really kept us afloat when my wife Shanti and I were buying our home. There were a few non traditional components to this purchase. We were buying the home we had been renting for almost a year and we needed to act quickly, yet responsibly and as informed as possible. Initially, the listing agent had approached us to represent both sides of the sale. I am grateful we did it go that route as I am confident we would not have been ethnically represented. Donavaun really looked out for us to make sure that we were buying a sound home and that any repairs that needed to be made, were made. There were some intense moments with response times (or lack of- I am trying to be diplomatic about the listing agent) from the sellers side but Donavaun was consistent and honest with us. Our home eventually closed after over 2 months of escrow hell, all of which were made bearable by Donavaun and his calming demeanor. It is worth mentioning that we rented the home before purchasing it, and as part of the process, many tradespeople had to come into our home which had us on guard as 2 women in a same sex relationship. Donavaun was always affirming and brought only the best tradespeople into our home, and when we could not be there to meet with them, he would show up. We are so grateful to Donavaun and his team. Buying a home was not in our plan, but the possibility presented itself and we went with it, and made it come true. But only with Donavaun's support and advocacy through the process!
