That promise was thoroughly kept. Don Anthony's team provided complete and excellent service throughout the selling process. First Marilyn helped with getting the house listed and setting an asking price. She was very friendly as well as professional, especially in identifying exactly what selling points to emphasize and advising on how best to position our house in the local market. Then Lynda took over to guide the process through to closing, giving excellent advice at every turn. I must confess that I was a little hesitant when I found out that I would mainly have to communicate with Lynda by text message or phone, rather than in person (as I had been able to do with Marilyn); an in person consultation would have necessitated a further charge. But Don filled in the gaps by sending videos with detailed information and advice at each important stage. And Lynda never failed to be available promptly when needed, plus she was always patient in sticking with a question or problem till it was fully answered or solved. She also provided a firm and confident hand whenever there was an item to be negotiated. So in the end I understood Don's business model and how it helped keep the fee low, while sacrificing nothing in the way of service. Indeed, he and his team together probably went over and beyond the level of service one might expect from an individual agent in person. In short, I was thoroughly satisfied with the service I got from the Don Anthony team and cannot recommend them too highly.

What a great experience it was working with Anne Leighton from Don Anthony Realty. Not only is she very familiar with the area but she is so very good at negotiating and has a thorough understanding of the overall process and laws related to real estate. Being relatively new to the area (NC) I leaned on her knowledge and felt confident in doing so. I also want to mention that Anne has a very pleasing personality and is a pleasure to work with from that perspective as well. She always responded to any email, text or phone call promptly and also called to check in as needed. One thing that I think I like the most, and probably needed the most, was her ability to "reel me in". When we first started the process we discussed my must haves, nice to haves as well as the "do not wants". It is easy to get excited (or overwhelmed) when looking at houses and as I am sure you know, it can be an emotional experience (not to mention emotionally draining). Anne was great at reminding me of what I did and did not want on a few occasions when I seemed to have forgotten or ignored them while getting caught up in house hunting. For that I am thankful because I ended up with a home that captured all my "must haves" and even a few "like to haves". ZillowVERIFIED I originally posted a great review when our home was under contract, I should have waited! The whole process has been nothing short of a disaster! We referred the buyer to Don Anthony knowing we could have simply sold the home to her directly. The buyers agent is snooty, with olds vital information, yet works for the same company! Our ordeal is now at day 48 and for the 5th time we are told this Friday. When you sign the contract tract, read the line that allows for an extra 15 business days to settle. The buyer for our home didn't bother to file her taxes for 2 years and the whole process hinges on her ability to get IRS transcripts in the middle of tax season (I'm not holding my breath). Since all this has happened the home we were buying (4 states away) will most likely be lost along with my deposit. My rate lock has experienced and now I'm at 1/4% higher and nothing I can do about it or the thousands it will cost me over the life of the loan. All my clothes and belongings have been sitting on a moving truck for 2 weeks and I'm being charged by the day, and yet nothing from Don Anthony and only a lot of "I don't know" or "What if's"Don answered the phone when I called about listing my house, and after thst he's MIA as is the woman who listed it. They only communicate thru email and nothing like waiting an entries day just to get an email with "I don't know"! I suggested that Don Anthony waive his fee for me (the seller) since he and his associates really did nothing. I showed the home, lowered the price $20K below market value to sell it quickly and since the contract, they are clearly all for the buyer and do not represent the interests of the buyer Any money I saved has been lost in moving fees, hotel stays and interest rate increase! Do yourself a favor, pay the 6% and hire an actual professional. They don't even vet any potential buyers before scheduling a showing. Most of those who looked at our house either didn't have financing or prevent approval.

ZillowVERIFIED I've always felt that a percentage based fee for selling a home was ridiculous and way too expensive. Your combination of a flat fee and a very reasonable percentage works perfect for my business flipping homes. I have been very pleased with the support I've received from everyone there. Especially during the contract negotiation process. I have used full fee realtors in the past who turned out to have terrible negotiation skills and it cost me time and A LOT of money. Using Don Anthony for my last 2 sales has saved me over $18,000 compared to using a realtor charging 6%. That's awesome, and I do not feel like I have compromised on service. In fact, I think because Don Anthony does so many transactions their service is better than most.

I am SO glad to have had such an awesome experience AND saved so much money! I love the 'digital' aspect of DA, everything through the App & through email......I didn't want any hand-holding day-to-day, but I got plenty of help & info whenever I needed it! Sometimes the gals in DA's office even replied to my emails into the late evening & weekends! Now using one of his agents for my buying-agent & SO happy with Tracie Z as well! DA will be my FIRST call if I ever buy or sell again!!!Previous review (Sept 2015):We are currently listed with Don Anthony Realty and I cannot say enough good things about this Realtor. The SHORT version? LOOK NO FURTHER for a professional team at the RIGHT PRICE to help you buy or sell! Here's the long explanation!I feel that current realtor commissions are just simply too high, a home like ours at $375 would cost us $22,500 to sell with traditional realty firms (6% commission total). Can I just repeat....$22-THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!! NOW.....if you want your hand held, and want a physical person visiting you regularly and constantly in your life as you go through the listing & sale process, then maybe you should go elsewhere. DA's website clearly explains they offer a discount rate by cutting out all the extra 'unnecessary' fluff. I don't like fluff! I am busy (constantly) and email & app-communications on my smartphone is the right way for me! When it comes to contract time, DA will do the bulk of their work to earn the 1/2% (and well-deserved). Don Anthony does everything that is NECESSARY to sell your home, you don't get anything you don't NEED!As it is, most homes now are marketed ONLINE and via MLS (and subsequently with Zillow, Trulia...etc). Anytime a buyer is searching in an area, your home WILL come up as a result. Maybe there is an off chance that a few realtors would not show your home, but it's so minimal of a chance....if you pay/offer the standard 3% buying agent commission you should get plenty of showings (we've had 25 in 2 months all from outside agencies). Being that almost all real estate is marketed online, it is just hard for me to feel good paying over $10k to do some electronic transaction work and negotiate at contract!As it is, we opted for the $499 listing + .5% (yes, that's 1/2% folks!) upon sale of the home. They do have a 'fuller service' option at 2.5% I believe. The office staff has been SO AMAZING at responding IMMEDIATELY when there was any interest on our home. They email us IMMEDIATELY when a possible buyer has a question (again folks, this is all electronic communication......so much more convenient than a phone call or a 'visit' just to ask simple questions). And it's all tracked via email if you need a record! Further, we agreed to use a Don Anthony Agent to be our buyer agent, and she has offered advice (free) and guidance on a few occasions and she has not gotten paid for anything as we have not sold yet. Their team has stopped by to measure the home (verify square footage) and swap out (upgrade) the lock box, both times the folks were SO professional and offered more advice and helpful comments.Everything about listing, showing & feedback runs through an APP......SO simple and it's FAST, no lag & no mistakes. We used a discount realtor to sell our previous home, and Don Anthony has been just as awesome the second time around. The most important part for me is having the help when negotiations comes around, and contract prep.....I know I am fully backed and I feel confident this is the BEST CHOICE we could have made in selling our home!We have not sold 'yet' but it's not due to DA, its the market & other factors, I know we will soon! OH - AND FYI......part of the beauty of DA is that you can pull your listing and re-list within one year and NOT pay the $499 again! So I can pull in the slow months and re-list in the spring and it's like picking back up where we left off! AWESOME!!!!
