About Derek Patti

Originally born in Texas, I've spent the majority of my life in Florida, growing up in the Orlando area. After graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor's in Finance, I spent some time in the Retirement Benefits and Mortgage industry prior to becoming a licensed REALTOR® in 2013, which happened to be the same year my wife and I moved to Sarasota. Once licensed, I worked as a Buyer's Agent on a team with the largest RE/MAX franchise in the State of Florida. After a few years, I joined a smaller boutique firm on Siesta Key, where I spent almost 4 years taking in all of what Siesta Key and Sarasota's beautiful scenery had to offer. Most recently, I joined my third brokerage, NextHome Excellence, and the incredible group of agents in place. Within the real estate industry, I have been highly involved with our local Realtor Association of Sarasota Manatee. I am a past graduate of their Leadership Institute, Vice Chair of the Communications Committee, Chair of the then-new Member Engagement Committee, and most recently, the 2020 Young Professionals Network Chair after serving as the Vice Chair in 2019. I've been a member of the YPN since it's founding back in 2014 and have been volunteered to put on numerous charity events that have raised more than $15,000 per year for local charities within our community. I also volunteer for various community outreach events coordinated by our Association throughout the year, and always looking to give back whenever possible. In my free time, you will find me playing with Barbies & singing and dancing like Disney Princesses with my 2 beautiful little girls and my amazing wife while we await our son's birth in October 2020.

Derek was referred to us by our niece. We reside out of state, so we made an appointment to meet with him while we were in Florida. We were really impressed with his knowledge and his willingness to help. Derek was always very prompt with the communications, whether it was email, texts or phone calls. During the phone calls he was always patient and let us bounce around different ideas. Derek went above and beyond his realtor duties. He took care of a lot of things that we couldn't since we were out of state and we can't thank him enough. We felt like he always stood up for us. We would highly recommend Derek.
