The fact that we went back to him really tells the whole story, doesn't it, but there is more to say. David is a really nice guy, easy to be with, funny, and with everything in perspective. When it comes to selling, he is smart -- he got us a really good price on our house. David took us on a tour around Providence when we first met, pre-COVID, and pointed out the pros and cons of each neighborhood and since we were from out of state put everything together that we needed once it was time to get serious about purchasing. Whenever we found a house we were interested in touring we texted him and he set up an appointment within a few hours. He also actively identified houses that matched what we asked for. He or his partner accompanied us on every house tour, answered honestly questions about what sort of repairs would be necessary, what renovations were feasible, and how much they would cost. It was also clear he was on good terms with other realtors who trusted him and were happy to accommodate any request he made on our behalf. Throughout the process David was very attuned to the needs of our family, at a time of Covid-19 and no childcare. He respected our safety preferences, made sure our children were accommodated when we had to drag them along, and even babysat them outside when we parents wanted to tour houses without them underfoot. (Later, on they day we closed he also gave the kids housewarming gifts made by a local artisan that they LOVE.) When we finally found a place we wanted, he helped us through the bid process, the mortgage, the inspection, the negotiations for repairs and credits after the inspection. When we needed to enter into financial negotiations with the seller, he was willing to be exactly as aggressive or conservative as we were comfortable with. Throughout he was remarkably responsive, answering texts and phone calls almost immediately and very knowledgeably. We had a lot of repairs and renovations we wanted to get done on a limited budget and a tight schedule, and David's recommendations of general contractors, floor installer, electricians and more were very helpful. We wholeheartedly recommend David Hasslinger as a buyer's agent, and if we do ever need to sell our new house (which we love) we would definitely hire him again, this time as our seller's agent.
