Review After more than forty happy years in our home in the North Springbrook neighborhood, it was time to relocate out of state. Having frequently heard the name Dave Savercool spoken of positively for the past thirty years or so, I decided not to call anyone but him to handle the sale of my house. Not only was I not disappointed, but his knowledge, expertise, and practical recommendations exceeded my expectations. , Dave assisted me in locating the experts needed to prepare the house for sale. And as we were nearing the date to put the house on the market, he wrote an accurate and inviting description of our home and property. He arranged for incredibly tasteful staging which emphasized its beauty and spaciousness without overdoing it. The photographer he engages did justice to our home, both in the stills and the ability to tour and in 3D. Dave Savercool responded promptly to any question or concern we raised. And he was with me every step of the way, from contract signing through to closing. He even attended the closing for me because I was not able to be there. We contacted Dave close to a year before we found and purchased our new home in North Carolina to be close to our son and granddaughter. At that time, he gave us expert detailed advice on how we should prepare our home for sale. Once we found our new home he continued to support and expertly guide us in getting the house ready for sale. Since we bought and moved into our new home prior to putting our home in Maryland on the market, he took care of day-to-day meetings with contractors. He took care of seeing to the last finishing touches on the house prior to it going on the market. The photos he had taken of the house and surroundings and the open house he held a few days after it hit the market helped sell the house significantly over the asking price, with 6 offers to choose from! We bought a house in a very competitive market, and finding the right house at the right time was a challenge. Review We have lived in this area for 18 years and have seen the Savercool signs on the majority of houses for sale, so I contacted Dave 10 years ago for advice on how best to 'fix up' our house. I wanted to take advantage of his expertise on houses like ours in the area, but also how to make changes that would be best for selling the house at a future date. We followed his advice and renovated the house a few years later - and then our literal dream house became available for sale (1/2 mile from the house we were living in) and Dave was the first and only agent we called. The market in the area was crazy with homes being listed and seemingly sold within hours of listing, even during the 2020 covid pandemic. We were not confident that we could scramble an offer for this home within a few hours of its listing, but we knew that was essential if we were to have any chance at all of buying it. Dave was actually on vacation but responded to our urgent plea anyway - and he actually managed to get us a (hard to come by!) viewing appointment - and then to formulate what was ultimately the winning bid! We never would have thought of all the details of the offer to include, but Dave's advice was spot-on, and definitely led to our bid being accepted (the other bid we beat was for the same amount as ours, so Dave's suggested features of the offer were obviously the only difference). We are now 100% ecstatic in our new home!We then discovered that Dave's advice about the original house, 10 years ago, was right on the money - we recouped 90% of our investment in the renovations (actual amount was 90% of our outlay)! We were so right to consult with him about how best to go about renovating, and then right again to go with the Savercool team when it was time to sell! Since we had already moved out of the house, Dave organized amazing photos of the house, and set up the scheduler for walk-throughs during the pandemic, which quickly filled up. We had 50 showings within a few days and seven offers within 5 days; this is as much a testament to the Savercool's presentation (and earlier advice!) as it was to the hot local market. Our buyers' funding was threatened and Dave was super calm and collected about it, helping us freak out less, and then ultimately the funding for the original buyers came through. The Zillow review ratings include words like "very impressive" local knowledge, "masterful" process expertise, "immediate" responsiveness, and "excellent" negotiation skills. All of those, and more, apply to our experience both buying and selling with Dave! Review Dave Savercool was our agent for both selling the home where we raised our children and lived for 20 years and buying a condo so we could downsize. His expertise and calm demeanor, at a time we were nervous, led to both transactions going smoothly. He advised us on what to offer for the condo, negotiating the sellers down from their original asking price, and what fix-ups to ask for after the inspection. He advised us on the fix-ups we needed to do prior to putting our house on the market and how best to stage the house, resulting in 10 offers at or above the asking price the first weekend the house was listed.
