When I started looking for a realtor, my main priorities were finding someone with experience, an understanding of the local area, and the patience and ability to explain how the home buying process works to people who were unfamiliar with the process. After speaking with Darlene for the first time I had a good feeling that she was a good fit, and she went on to exceed all of our expectations. My husband and I were searching for a home throughout 2022, which was a very expensive and competitive market for buyers in our area. Homes were selling within days of being posted, and were selling at significantly over asking price. This meant that responsiveness, expertise, and a positive attitude were key to success. Darlene has all three in spades. First, Darlene was extremely responsive during our entire search process. If I called Darlene early or late, I always knew she would pick up or get back to me immediately, including over the holidays. For instance, we were completing documents to close in late November around Thanksgiving, and Darlene was still quick to respond to any questions we had. Darlene also has a great team that works with her, so even if she was not personally available there was never a moment where we weren't able to complete a home tour, which was so important in the hot seller's market we were looking in. Second, Darlene has significant experience and it shows. We were looking in multiple cities, none of which we knew particularly well, and Darlene's knowledge about those areas was really helpful to us. She was also able to explain how different aspects of the home buying process would work, and as a result was able to advocate for our needs. When we got discouraged and wanted to agree to terms that were not in our best interest, she pushed to make sure that our needs were met, which ultimately resulted in our getting a better deal. Finally and above all else, Darlene is a very kind person who we felt we could trust implicitly. Over the course of our search I believe we looked at over 80 homes, in about 7 different cities and Darlene never made us feel like we were a burden or that we were too picky. She maintained a very supportive attitude throughout, even as we ourselves became discouraged. She was also able to maintain this kindness, while still being a fierce advocate for our interests. The fact that Darlene truly cares about her clients has been evidenced by her continuing to check in on us as we have started to settle into our home, even after we have closed.
