Start by getting pre-approved. There is nothing worse than falling in love with a home and finding out you can't afford it. Plus it allows you to move fast and be ready to make that offer. It could be the difference between getting the home and missing out if it is in an in-demand neighborhood in Peachtree City or Fayetteville GA or a particularly desirable home.

Look at your home through the eyes of a buyer. What would you change/update/refresh? What made you buy the home in the first place? Get your realtor (me!) to walk through the home with you. I'll tell you what to spend money on and more importantly, what NOT to spend money on. And always, always declutter, depersonalize and deep clean.

I represented sellers who were selling their family home in Fayette County, GA. They loved their home, their neighbors and their neighborhood. They raised their family there, but it was time for a new chapter, so it was bitter sweet. We prepared the home, and did an extensive marketing launch. I created a video for my YouTube channel about the home and the neighborhood and created numerous short form videos for Instagram and Facebook. The first weekend it was on the market, we invited all the neighbors to our open house and made it a big party. Neighbors got to mingle and then the open house buyers started showing up. I did 2 open houses that weekend and secured a great offer. Of course there is always a hick up, in this case the appraisal did not come in on the list/offer price. We negotiated a slightly lower sales price, still well above the appraisal and everyone was happy. My sellers are living their best live in a new country!

I actually worked for an event company right out of college and we did big events for a large new construction development in Florida. I never thought I would become a real estate agent, but I was ready for a new challenge here in Fayette County GA. My only regret is not doing it sooner!

My career before becoming a real estate agent was in special events. I planned, coordinated and promoted a variety of events, from large festivals to corporate productions. In the years before becoming a real estate agent, I immersed myself in digital marketing and marketing homes and open houses is one thing I love to do!
