I toured this home in September 2025 after seeing four previous pending sales fall through earlier in the year. I contacted the listing agent, Claire Paris, hopeful that this would finally be our chance to buy a home and start a new chapter for our family. I submitted an offer in the first week of November with the plan to close in early December so we could be settled before the holidays. Instead, the process quickly became a series of missed deadlines, unfinished repairs, and poor communication. Each delay came with little explanation and no clear plan to fix the issues. Closing was pushed back multiple times, eventually landing on December 22nd. During that entire period, I had completed every buyer requirement weeks in advance aEUR" financing secured, funds in escrow, utilities arranged aEUR" while repairs and contracted work remained incomplete. My realtor had to step in repeatedly just to get responses or movement. Because of these delays, I was forced to move over Christmas with my toddler. Christmas Eve was spent carrying boxes, trying to make the house livable, and rushing to set up a tree so my child could still have some sense of normalcy and joy. What should have been a happy milestone became stressful, exhausting, and heartbreaking. Once we moved in, the reality of the situation became even harder to ignore. Issues that were supposed to be resolved before closing were still present, including exposed wiring under the kitchen sink, no power to the shop as specified, missing baseboards, and other unfinished work throughout the home. Instead of enjoying our first Christmas in our new house, we were dealing with problems that should have been addressed long before move-in day. As a first-time homebuyer, this experience was deeply discouraging. Buying a home is supposed to be exciting aEUR" especially when youre doing it for your family aEUR" but this process took away moments we will never get back. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this agent to buyers or sellers who value communication, accountability, and care during such an important life event.
