We had been trying to find a house for about ten months before my wife met Jay. Within a few minutes of explaining our requirements, Jay suggested that we look at the house which we ended up buying. This house had recently come on the market and was priced reasonably, and Jay recommended that we move quickly to make an offer. He was correct - at the same time we made our offer, there was a competing offer and Jay's suggestions for our counteroffer made the difference of our counteroffer being accepted.Jay was always pleasant, energetic, and efficient. Jay was always reachable during the business day and business week, and whenever we tried to contact him after hours he returned our call or text as soon as possible. Jay understood the home purchase process intimately and whenever we had a question he wasn't personally familiar with, he researched our question thoroughly and came back with an answer. During our evaluation of the home, we wanted to return several times to check out various issues, and Jay was very accommodating to our needs.Jay was particularly valuable by having relationships with a number of trusted contractors that were willing to offer bids on short notice to aid us in formulating our offer and counteroffer. This was very valuable to us as we were new residents of Whatcom County and had not yet developed our own trusted contractors.One subtle thing that was different about Jay from other real estate people is that Jay didn't seem jaded or blasA(C) about the home buying process. He never gave us the impression that we were just one of many customers or even "just a customer" - Jay invested himself our purchase of this house.Another contrast to some real estate people we've dealt with was that Jay wasn't afraid to tell us bad news that we needed to hear. It was refreshing that when Jay did come to us with bad news, he also came prepared with good suggestions on dealing with the issue.I recommend Jay. He is very energetic, professional real estate agent and is pleasant and responsive to work with. Jay knows the Whatcom County market very well.
