Not only was Chris excellent in all facets of both transactions, but he was completely present and responsive the entire year in between. He connected me with local vendors to assist me in making substantial improvements to the property, from furniture stores to tree removal, HVAC, cleaning people, and local firewood delivery. He even connected me with a local handyman to clean up the deck on my property. Chris always succeeded in promptly delivering even the most minor requests. I can't say enough good things about him. Without his help we would never have been able to get the permitting done quickly enough to close the property on time with all the permits in hand. Many people who were also trying to get things permitted at the same time we were have asked how we were able to get it through so quickly. It was all Chris. He also made recommendations on several local contractors who have been invaluable to the process. He was on top of everything so we did not have to make any extra trips up to manage anything. When we came up, it was just to enjoy the property.

He was recommended to us by another realtor who has a vacation rental in the area, and she told us, "He's the best in the area." It seems that she was right! After searching and waiting for several months, Chris was quick to act on a cabin that fit all of our criteria (even reaching out to us about it as it came on the market--before it had been posted to Zillow). He visited the cabin on our behalf, told us that we needed to make an offer sight unseen, and we were under contract the next day! It turns out Chris was exactly right about the cabin. I called a dozen agents and it quickly became obvious that Chris was the one to go with. He always called me right back, listened well, knew the market, and was very polite and professional. On the day we arrived, Chris gave us a tour and showed us several homes. He quickly honed in on my preferences, and the next morning, the first house he showed me was the home I purchased. Chris wrote up the offer that day. Buying a house long distance isnt easy, but Chris made it as smooth and painless as possible. He was conscientious, responsive, intuitive, gave helpful suggestions and had excellent follow through. He is honest, has integrity, and is a skilled negotiator. He knows the area so well that he is a tremendous resource. I was a former real estate appraiser and my brother was a home inspector. The last property was extremely difficult as the selling agent was lacking in professionalism. It was left to Chris to take care of all matters on the buying side in addition to a large majority of the selling agent's responsibilities. What Chris was forced to endure throughout the process would have sent most realtors running. He is extremely ethical and it is obvious that he puts his clients needs and goals first. He will always find ways to turn a negative situation into a positive. The amazing thing about Chris is he isn't one of those realtors who feels he is finished with you after the deal is complete. I had been looking online for property in the Ashe county and surrounding areas from my home location a few hours away for a few months. When I was finally ready to get serious, I contacted a few agents, and Chris was the only one that promptly got in touch and followed up just as he said he would. I had a lot of specific criteria I was looking for in the property, and Chriss life-long knowledge of the area helped me narrow down the different areas and communities that best fit what I was interested in. Chris quickly followed up a long list of property options and worked with me to set a time to look at each in person. Chris even managed to secure us a 4-wheeler to access some of the more remote places that didnt have a road built yet! Once I found the property I wanted and was ready to make the offer, thats when Chriss experience helped me even more. He worked with me on drafting an offer and was there to offer advice and insight during the entire negotiation process. It was a bit of unique situation in that there were 3 sellers in three different locations, but Chris consistently kept me up to date where things stood the entire time and went out of his way to track down what was happening when it look some time to get all 3 sellers on the same page. Chris was also able to get me in touch with the local resources I needed to complete everything and answer questions on road and building options -- including surveyors, local lenders, lawyers for the closing, and people in the county office for building codes questions.
