FAQ
Choose an agent that asks lots of questions to determine your needs and desires. You need to have a trusting connection with them. It can be a complicated journey; but the right agent can make it an enjoyable one. This journey should fit nicely into your overall life plans.
Every neighborhood and city are different. Choose someone who understands your needs and will be honest about your home and what can be done to merchandise it properly. They should be able to explain the current market to you with simplicity and a comprehension of what buyer's are looking for in your area. If they don't know your competition; the buyers certainly will.
I have worked with a wide range of clients from first-time home buyers to investors, and from newlyweds to divorcees. I have experience with clients in all price points and motivation levels. I have done well with both local clients and those relocating.
A soon-to-be-married couple was looking for their first place together; moving into town from another state. We talked about their needs with future plans in mind - both family and financial plans. We were able to find them a nice condo but the condo community was not FHA approved. Working with the seller's agent and lender closely, we were able to navigate the complex process to get a 'single unit' approval for an FHA loan. After much advocacy and effort, the entire team got it closed and they moved in. They are enjoying outfitting the new place and making their house a home; together. Since then, other agents have called asking about how we did it as they have clients trying to buy in that same community with an FHA loan.
I was nearing the end of my executive charity career when my partner was growing his real estate team. We decided I could get my license to bring my executive skills to the team. I had experience in the building trades in my younger days as my family had owned a construction business for 2 generations. It was a way to blend my desire to help other people, use my life skills, and work together in the same business. It has been a wonderful journey ... and continues to be.
Being a concierge on the home buying journey makes great use of my executive skills and building trades family background. My knowledge of the city through years of charity endeavors and networked colleagues have helped our clients acclimate to new neighborhoods and - in some cases - a whole new city for them. The 'solution seeker' in me finds great reward through helping others along the home buying path.
