ZillowVERIFIED This has been a bitter sweet experience for me and my family. We had to relocate out of state and sell our home in West Lafayette, Cathy had helped us in the purchase back in 2013 and in May 2017 we asked her to help us sell the house. My wife and I stopped by her office on a Saturday to complete the paperwork and indicated on the disclosures that the Washer and Dryer were not to be part of the sale We moved out of the house the June 5th (Monday) and I agreed to have the house cleaned by her crew (including having the carpets washed). The house went on the market on June 8th (Thursday) and we accepted an offer by EOB June 9th. During Friday June 9th I had noticed that the offer we were going to accept had included the washer and dryer on the deal and when we discussed with Cathy I reminded her that our position was not deal would include washer/dryer. Unfortunately, when I received the paperwork afterwards I failed to realize that those were left included. During the inspection of the house some minor issues were found that needed to be addresses (AC Inspection, erosion around back yard slab, filling window well). Eventually agree to do this and over time Cathy took over doing this. I checked via email every week on progress and was told that everything was being taken care off and not to worry.On June 26 she inquired if she should take care of mowing, I agreed indicating that I believed we were responsible until closing for the yard. My wife visited the house that following weekend and indicated only the front yard grass had been cut and that no carpets had been washed.We traveled back for closing at the end of July, when we arrived (07/26) we found that our ancient, worn out (but our kids nevertheless) metal swing was not in the house, when I inquired I was told that it had been thrown away...we were never asked (maybe too sentimental on our side, but we intended to bring it with us as it showed where we have come from). The grass was 5"-6" tall in the back and a little less in the front, weeds had overtaken the front landscaping and I started to wonder what was going on.Day of the closing i noticed three line items besides realtor commissions, one for cleaning, one for miscellaneous work and one for AC inspection...I did not question them. We had trouble getting the moving company to show up and ended up staying an extra night, when we left (saturday 07/29), we took the washer and dryer with us thinking we owned them, only to get a text message from the new owners at 2am indicating that we had taken the washer/dryer by mistake. We contacted Cathy to try to understand what happened, the moving company to locate the items and be prepared and eventually had to pay to have the washer/dryer hauled back from temporary storage. I also had to face a very disappointed buyer that found that the window well filling and slab erosion work had not taken place and that the yard was a complete disaster. When I went to my agent the response initially was for me to write them a check, then to wait them out and that the buyers were being unrealistic and when the new owners threatened legal action against me, it went to complete silence and I ended up having to hire a contractor to do the repairs I thought I had paid for, pay an additional penalty for the condition the yard was found (when Cathy offered to send someone, the new owners had already done the work with their real estate agent helping). What should have been a stress-free experience become an emotional nightmare, i was left with the feeling that I have to fend for myself, pay for work I thought I had already paid for and deal with an angry buyer (justly so) and their agent while mine left me hanging.

ZillowVERIFIED Listed a home with Cathy because of a national endorsement. Would never use her again. Was great with communication and responsiveness when getting the listing agreement then it was all downhill from there. Near closing time I checked with Cathy to make sure everything was going well and to see if it was safe to give my job 2 weeks notice and to make other living living arrangements. She ensured me that it was safe. She never contacted me to tell me the closing was delayed, I had to find out from the title company. Because of the late notice and the fact that all of my belongings were already in a truck to be ready for the move on closing day I moved to my new location which was 900 miles away and I was ensured that there would be a 2 week delay and probably less.Cathy suggested letting the buyers rent at $1100 a month for a couple of months until they could improve their credit which we were told was close. She sent paperwork letting them rent for $850 which was less than the mortgage. Turns out they had a score of just over 400 and both of them had quit their jobs which she never bothered to tell us. She sent an email stating that the buyers could not get approved then just a couple of days later she calls to tell me that she is working with a bank and thinks she can get them financed.She stopped showing the house even though there was no sales contract. She asked us why no one was showing the house even though she had it listed as sold when it was not.Service was terrible and honesty seemed to be lacking.Probable good at a simple transaction with a buyer going I want that house, she fills out the paperwork and then lets the title company take over. Anything more and you are asking for difficulties

ZillowVERIFIED I would never recommend Cathy Russell. I had been warned not to work with her, but after reading positive reviews I decided to give her a chance. What a headache! I had the unfortunate task of selling my mom's house after her passing (in a city in which i did not live). Communication was seriously lacking. I rarely knew what was going on during this process. Most communication from Cathy or her closing officer was incomprehensible! Spelling and grammar are apparently not their forte. There was no professionalism to be found. I could not be present for the closing, as I live in a different city. Cathy failed to arrange for necessary paperwork to be signed for the closing to happen in my absence. Fortunately, the title company was extremely helpful and informative about what we would need to do in order to close on time. They emailed me all necessary documents to have notarized and returned. The agent, Albert, at the title company is the only one in the whole process who explained anything. Cathy never contacted me the day of closing, neither before or after. Again, Albert, is the one who contacted me to let me know that the closing was successful and to confirm arrangements for receiving funds. What an awful way to conduct a business! I was so relieved to sell my mom's home because that meant I no longer had to deal with this "team" of unprofessionals. I contacted my realtor (who referred Cathy) many times during the process. She was absolutley appalled at the lack of professionalism, lack of respect, and lack of care given by Cathy Russell. Needless to say, she is no longer giving Cathy's name out as an acceptable agent. I would definitely never recommend Cathy or her team. I wish I had heeded the warnings of others.

We looked at several and really appreciated that Georgia showed us right at budget homes, below budget and a little above budget just so we could gauge what we would be getting for our money. Once we found the house we wanted Georgia held our hand through the whole process and answered hundreds of questions, some of them repeatedly. She was very patient, knew what we wanted, needed, and anticipated problems and questions even before we asked about them and had the information at hand. There were times we went to the Cathy Russell office and had to deal with people we'd never met, but there was never any miscommunication. They knew why we were there every time and were waiting to help us. We had constant and consistent contact with Georgia. If I had a question, she had an answer within minutes. Returned ALL my calls and emails right away which was VERY refreshing because we were ignored by others we had tried to contact about properties from other agencies. We always felt Georgia had OUR best interest at heart and she was there for US!! If we are ever in the market again for a house to flip or for my daughter or friends to upgrade or downsize, we will go to her again and will suggest Cathy Russel Team to others! The fact that your website has the newest listings and you keep them up to date was a HUGE help!!

She was very helpful in getting all of the paperwork and other items together quickly, especially given that we were out of the state (over 800 miles away). She was also very helpful in helping us organize a cleaning crew and a couple other items that were needed for the house to show properly and which would have been difficult for us to do away from the house. In my view, this is above and beyond what is usually provided by most realtors, and we were very appreciative of the additional help.
