About Catherine Strachan

I am originally from the Hampton Roads area and have been familiar with the Outer Banks all of my life. Since it was just a 2 hour drive away vacationing here as a child was frequent. In 1988, at the age of 13, I made the permanent move here with my family. I remember when Duck was just a small village and Corolla was a little known destination spot. In 2006, after helping my mother manage the Duck Inn Bed and Breakfast in Duck, NC, which provided valuable experience in customer relations and business, I joined her in real estate as well after witnessing her career soar. I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My grandfather, Raymond, "Coca-Cola" Brown patented the stationary bottle opener and was the president of the Brown Manufacturing Company, a successful Coca Cola bottling company in Newport News, VA for over 50 years. I'm passionate about my job, working diligently to see that all of my clients are satisfied, whether buying or selling. I have worked on both the listing and selling side of several foreclosures and short sale transactions, a valuable skill in today's volatile market. I'm a designated Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource Specialist as well as a Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist, specializing in the vacation home market.
