I am originally from the Hampton Roads area and have been familiar with the Outer Banks all of my life. Since it was just a 2 hour drive away vacationing here as a child was frequent. In 1988, at the age of 13, I made the permanent move here with my family. I remember when Duck was just a small village and Corolla was a little known destination spot. In 2006, after helping my mother manage the Duck Inn Bed and Breakfast in Duck, NC, which provided valuable experience in customer relations and business, I joined her in real estate as well after witnessing her career soar. My grandfather, Raymond, "Coca-Cola" Brown patented the stationary bottle opener and was the president of the Brown Manufacturing Company, a successful Coca Cola bottling company in Newport News, VA for over 50 years.
