She knows the real estate market backwards and forward. Even though we looked at homes that weren't really right for us, she indulged us. After only a couple of weeks, we found our dream home. In addition to helping us find our home, she was extremely helpful in finding us a lender. In addition, we were living in Chicago, so she went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to ensure a pain free closing without us having to fly into Santa Fe all the time. We are from out of state, and needed someone with local knowledge to help us with a purchase of an investment property in Santa Fe. From our very first conversation with Carmen, we were impressed with her professionalism and deep local knowledge. Because of her extensive experience she was able to anticipate various issues that we, as amateurs, were not aware of. Because of this, we were able to avoid many missteps. The shifting financial landscape caused by the cover-19 pandemic caused our transaction to run into some bumps on the lending side, but Carmen was always right there when we needed her; she kept the deal moving forward and also proactively took steps to hold it together by working closely with the seller at a critical point when it looked like we might lose the property. Because of her many years in the real estate business in Santa Fe, she has long standing relationships with other professionals who we were able to call on for property inspections, questions about zoning, insurance, and etc. Her network is top notch, and we always felt confident in the referrals she provided. In addition to being a true pro, Carmen is delightfully warm and personable, and has seemingly boundless reserves of energy. First and foremost she is a selfless, honest and high integrity human being. This sold me on Carmen. It is easy to enjoy her company because she is not putting on some act as other realtors are apt to do. Moreover Carmen is an expert in her field, including in the high-end space. She knows every part of Santa Fe inside and out, as a real estate market and as a place to raise a family. Beyond simply finding a house and making an offer Carmen showed her expertise especially navigating an arduous contract process with a difficult seller and his equally difficult realtor. There were dozens of amendments, objections, counters, counters to counters, etc, and Carmen managed the stress of those with both professionalism and grace, helping my wife and I navigate the process with confidence.
