ZillowVERIFIED Loved working with Bret and would highly recommend him! (He also helped my BFF and her mom purchase their homes in Truckee, too.) Three examples of ways that he impressed me:1) For one home that I was inclined to offer on, he advised against making an offer, as he was concerned it wouldn't meet my hopes and dreams in the long-run without significant additional cost. (Fast-forward a couple of months, and I've just closed on a home I'm thrilled about.)2) When he was out of town one weekend during my search, Bret quickly set me up with a trusted colleague to show an interesting just-listed property to me. Given how hot the market has been, I appreciated the sense of urgency, flexibility, and teamwork Bret and his colleague exhibited.3) Bret's support staff at Coldwell Banker is also amazing. The Transaction Coordinator assigned to me was A MACHINE -- she deftly wrangled all the details to get me through the purchase process and kept my lender and the title company on track for an on-time close. I hope to be able to work with him again some day!

ZillowVERIFIED Bret worked with us for over a year to find our perfect home. He really has the patience of an angel. He was referred to us by a friend, and we feel very lucky to have had him on our side. He is very easy to work with, and asked us the right questions to find out what we really wanted in a home. He is very knowledgeable about Reno and surrounding areas. We had a lot of fun working with him and an happy that we now have a new friend. Would definitely recommend Bret.

ZillowVERIFIED We were referred to Bret by our local Bay Area broker to purchase a house in the Truckee area. We were very happy with his service: always prompt, courteous and punctual.Purchasing a home during this Covid pandemic was challenging for a number of different reasons. Bret handled all of our unusual requests (such as specialized cleaning before close), respectfully and without a problem. We would have no hesitation in recommending him.

ZillowVERIFIED On a whim, I found Bret online and sent him a text. He immediatley responded back and we met that weekend at one of his listings. Immediatley I knew we had a connection because he wasn't your typical realtor. He seeked to understand what you were looking for, focused on teaching us about the area and went above and beyond to help close on our vacation home. We never felt any pressure only support from Bret and his team. We look forward to staying in touch with Brett over the years in the Truckee area. Thank you Bret!

ZillowVERIFIED Bret is very easy to talk to and represented my interests at all times. He is extremely quick to respond. In fact, while on his vacation, he organized a viewing, which led to the purchase of our dream home. Bret is head and shoulders above any real estate agent I have known, or worked with. I could not have been happier with our experiences with Bret. If, and when, we sell our home, Bret will my first choice.

ZillowVERIFIED Bret is a "get it done" type of guy. No lag on his end like I have found with other realtors. His knowledge of the Truckee area is remarkable. Our experience in dealing with Bret on our real estate transaction was not only professional but also a pleasure. Bret has a great sense of humor and made the process pleasant. We have bought and sold many properties and Bret is by far the most outstanding agent we have ever worked with.

ZillowVERIFIED Bret Churchman sold my mountain cabin. I do not live in the area and he took care of everything that needed to be done. He was on top of everything and kept me constantly informed of the progress and what was needed. The whole process was the easiest sale I have ever made, and it was all due to his excellent service and expertise. He also uses a very competent team for the financing. In addition, he is a very personable and competent man. I would recommend him highly.

ZillowVERIFIED We worked with Bret Churchman for more than a year viewing homes across two vastly different areas. We really appreciated Brets thoughtful and patient approach, which served our needs very well. He even held our dog on a leash one day while we viewed three homes. Brets knowledge of the market really helped narrow down the homes we ultimately viewed and made the overall process more focused. We particularly appreciated his insight into the offer we made on the home we ultimately purchased. The Sellers accepted our offer and we were able to move to escrow quickly. We also appreciated Brets dedication and willingness to go the extra mile during the escrow and closing process. He helped us with a couple important and time sensitive tasks while were were out of town and could not attend to them ourselves. He did an outstanding job in guiding us through the process and watching out for our interests. We highly recommend Bret.

ZillowVERIFIED A realtor friend told me that when you are hiring a realtor you want someone who answers their phone and responds quickly to e-mails or texts. Bret does all of that and so much more. His communications with us was perfect (not too much so I felt smothered, never too little so that I wondered what was happening). He came to our first meeting prepared, had suggestions for us, and most importantly listened to us and kept us updated through each step in the sale of our home. His knowledge of Reno and our neighborhood was impressive. My only regret in the sale of our home is that I will no longer have a reason to call or text Bret.

ZillowVERIFIED I can not recommend Bret highly enough and would, without a moment's hesitation, recommend him to my closest friend. Bret sold us our first house in Truckee 14years ago. Throughout the years, he has been a trusted source of advice on all things real-estate. He also just helped us sell the same house we purchased those 14years ago. Bret is a true professional who provides sound, time-tested advice and counsel. Throughout the process, we had absolutely zero concerns that our interests were being well taken care of. Thank you, Bret!

ZillowVERIFIED We were fortunate enough to be referred to Bret Churchman when we moved to Truckee, and Id like to pay it forward by giving a solid, honest review about his service so that you may have the same pleasure of working with him. No matter what your budget (condo or estate), no matter what your intent with the home will be (primary, vacation, or investment), no matter how much experience you have in the real estate market (first home or fifth), Bret is your guy. Bret will treat you as if you are his only client (I'm still convinced that we were, although I'm sure thats not true). Bret will show you every single home that you want to see (and in turn, encourage you to be patient to find the right fit). Bret will be objective (and help you to be realistic). Bret will make you laugh (and make you want to look at houses just to hang out with him). Brett will be so happy for you when you find a great house (and he will be proud of you for making a good decision). In addition to the house hunting process, Brett was extremely supportive and involved with the purchase process. Nicole and the rest of his team were fast, responsive, and held our hands with every step. Since the purchase, Bret has continued to check in with us to make sure that things are going well and that we are satisfied with the house. He has a genuine concern for his clients and a genuine love for the Truckee/Tahoe area. Spend your time house hunting, not realtor hunting. We hope that Bret will be as good a fit for you as he was for us.

ZillowVERIFIED I felt so lucky to have Bret represent me in the sale of my Truckee home. He found a fully qualified buyer and sold my home in just 1 day. He made sure I understood every step of the transaction, listened carefully to any concerns I had( very few ) and patiently walked me through the smoothest, quickest, and least complicated real estate experience I've ever had! His professional, down-to-earth approach is really refreshing along with a lets - get -this-done attitude. I truly enjoyed working with Bret and would highly recommend him for his knowledgable expertise in addressing any real estate needs.

ZillowVERIFIED We selected Bret Churchman and so glad we did. Bret knows Truckee and also he was very helpful in understanding the stress of selling our primary home of many years. Bret was right there when we had any questions or concerns in the final stages of selling our home. Through disappointments and repairs he was right there with us. Since Bret knows the area he was very helpful in the selection of contractors required for repairs. Bret never gave up on selling our home and thru his "we will sell" attitude, we did! We would highly recommend Bret to anyone either buying or selling property in Truckee. If we could we would give Bret 10 stars. Thank you, Bret.

ZillowVERIFIED We chose Bret Churchman after asking everyone we know with local contacts in the area who they would recommend as the best realtor. Bret's name came out on top by a wide margin. Here are some of the points that are important for you to know:Born and raised in Truckee, Bret knows the Truckee/Tahoe/Donner region as only a local can. That depth of experience was very helpful as he helped us find a neighborhood that we hadn't even considered--and it is perfect for us. He takes the time to get to know you. You will find that he has the type of personality that just makes you feel very comfortable working with him. You need a realtor because you'll find "issues" of some type or another with any property you buy. We were really able to understand how fortunate we were to have chosen Bret by how well he helped us navigate those issues with our own property. Bret grew up as the son of a local contractor and this shows in his ability to place a phone call and get just the right person at the right time for any work that needs to be done on the property. Our transaction has now closed. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the property, or with Bret who helped us buy it. My advice to you would be now that you've found this review, you should realize you've found your realtor.

ZillowVERIFIED I choose Bret Churchman randomly from a list of Realtors in the Truckee area. His website looked professional and he looked like a pleasant guy. I was right! I couldn't have asked for a better Realtor ! Bret was prompt, knowledgeable, great scene of humor and most of all very dedicated to my needs. My daughter and I looked at 30 cabins before finding the perfect one. I found myself apologizing for taking up so much of his time but he made it fun and very educational. I already feel like a local of Truckee now with the knowledge he gave me of the entire area. I highly recommend Bret Churchman if you are looking for a home /cabin in the Truckee area and beyond.
