Closing costs, moving expenses, and unexpected expenses can add up quickly. 5. Don't let emotions make the decision for you. It's easy to fall in love with a home, but make sure the price, condition, and location make financial sense. 6. Be prepared to act quickly, but don't rush. In a competitive market, being organized and decisive is important, but never feel pressured into buying a home that doesn't feel right. 7. Work with a knowledgeable local agent.
